Rivals250 LB Justin Maclin will visit Bama this week."If I had to say one thing LSU has over Alabama, and this may sound silly, but they have better food there. For Alabama, I like their defensive scheme better." "My dad are driving up Wednesday morning to Alabama and we haven't decided if we are going to spend the night or not. It is still up in the air," said Maclin who racked up 92 tackles and 19 sacks as a junior. "This will be a chance for me to feel out Alabama's campus and their football program during the offseason. I have been to their Junior Day and have seen them play twice in person, and I know that for my dad, Alabama is one of his top choices and mine as well.

If Maclin is looking for a good defensive scheme, he should look no further than the Hill. After all, we do have a Legendary Defensive Guru and his famous scheme right here at UT. Monte needs to work his magic on this kid, and I believe he will when it is all said and done. Still early.

While its too early to speculate what schools will be in the thick of it for some Sophomores, one name getting a lot of buzz is Anthony Johnson. Johnson got a lot of buzz last year when he showed up in Baton rouge as a freshman and holding his own in 1 on 1's going up against SR's. He recently showed up at a combine in LaGrange at 6-3 295 and didnt look fat. He earned MVP honors. He is from the HS O.P Walker that Frank Wilson was the Head Coach at in 2004. Johnson never played for Wilson, but i am sure Wilson has some very good ties to the HS, and is also a recognizable figure today. LSU is still the team here, but i am sure with wilson's ties we will make a run. I think we will be trying to make a splash in LA in 2011 along with trying to lock up the best talent pool in recent memory in our own state.

Clemson has verbally offered Jabriel Washington. He will be visiting Florida this weekend and Tennessee on the 18th(O&W game)

And what about the Class of 2010? Five-star prospect Joe Jackson of Memphis White Station was considered a lock for Memphis before Calipari's departure. Now, according to Jackson's travel team coach Eric Robinson, Arkansas and Marquette are coming on strong along with Tennessee and Ole Miss. Robinson also noted that Calipari has contacted Jackson and expressed his interest in recruiting him to Kentucky.

Expect the Tennessee staff to be at White Station High School at noon Thursday when the April contact period kicks in. Also, expect Pastner to go to great lengths to keep the city's best prospect at home. Jackson's recruitment is gearing up to be an epic in-state battle between Tennessee coach Bruce Pearl and Pastner.
