It could be argued that Joe's height is an actual handicap. He can't reach the top shelf at the store. Probably has to stand on his counters at home to reach the upper cabinets. Stop picking on him.
I have a stool thank you

@malinoisvol - I did a VN search on Subaru Outback, and I saw (Dec 2020) where your dad was considering buying your mom an Outback. What did he wind up buying, and if an Outback, how has it worked out?

I rented a RAV4 when I was in Denver and liked it, but the road noise was terrible, and it sits a bit high to get the Moms in and out, plus me in the passenger seat on a bad knee day.

I know you were asking mal, but here's my $.02 if you care... I've known several people with Outbacks that have had transmission issues and problems with seals and gaskets. Sounds like they are quite leaky. I was looking at the Outback last year and ultimately decided against it and got a Kia Niro hybrid for my daily driver. It's not a all-wheel drive, but I get 50+ mpg just driving to work and back (45 mile round trip) in city traffic.

I had a Forester when I lived in WY and it was a great car. Never had an issue driving in snow, used to pass people because it was so solid. And they can last forever.

Now that I think about it, I believe I had to get a new transmission, but it was still under warranty.

Do you happen to remember what model years they were? It’s amazing the range of owner experiences, from rock-solid reliable to demonically possessed (the car, not the owner, but not always easy to tell.)

He thought about it. Lol. Then bought him a brand new F150. She has a 2018 Dodge van. They'll put a couple more years on the Dodge then look at a replacement.

Sorry I haven't any info for you. Road noise drives me CRAZY fwiw.:)

Not really interested in a bunch of foreign parts that happen to be put together by robots at a place located on American soil where they got massive tax incentives to pay a few of my countrymen peanuts to sweep the floors. There are lists available of vehicles produced by US automakers with the highest percentage of US produced and supplied parts. I put my money where my mouth is.

Had flashflood type downpours here every day for the past 10 days.

Yeah, we’ve had a good amount of rain, but the one that just came through was the biggest I have experienced in a while.

Wish I had been home, they are very cool from up high.
