Rating the SEC coaching jobs

1. Alabama
2. Tennessee
3. Florida
4. Georgia
5. LSU
6. Auburn

My top 6. Tennessee and Alabama have to much rich history and tradition which gives them the nod over Georgia and Florida. And 'Bama as much as I hate them have just a wee bit more history than us.
yeah, but bama fans have had a history of comparing everything one coach does to what Bear did...those are tough shoes to fill, and given the amount of turnover they have had since Stallings left, i don't think it is looked at as "desireable". the history and tradition stuff is all true and does put some luster on it, but to be at Bama for any length of time, you better win, and you better beat Auburn and TN regularly. it'll be interesting to see how Mike Shula does the next 3 years if he continues to struggle against the Tigers from down south. that got Bill Curry fired.

The Times Picyune is the biggest joke of a newspaper anyway.

They always will rank LSU #1 no matter what

i feel

1) Florida-loaded with in state talent, easy to recruit top talent. great location
2) Ga-loaded with in state talent, easy to recruit top talent
3) UT-best facilities in the sec, largest stadium, largest fan base, largest athletic budget
4) LSU-great location, good tradition, good talent base
5) Alabama-great tradition, good talent base
6) Auburn-tradition, good pool of in state talent
7) SC-great location, limited base to recruit from
8) Arkansas
9) Ole Miss- some tradition, some in state talent
10) Vandy-not a lot of pressure to win here
11) Miss State

Here is my breakdown with some details explaining the reasoning. This is not exhaustive. There are more elements that go into a college football program. But, these are some of the most important elements when deciding to take over a program. Recruitability refers to the name the school carries in the recruiting circles of high school football. It is not representative of the current coach because that would obviously not be of much help for you coming in as the new coach. It does incorporate the presense or lack of in-state talent as well as the schools ability to pull talent from the surrounding states.

1. Florida (Recruitability: 5, Location: 5, Athletic $: 5, Fan Base: 4, Recent success: 4, Tradition: 4)
2. Tennessee (Recruitability: 4, Location: 4, Athletic $: 5, Fan Base: 5, Recent success: 3, Tradition: 4)
3. Auburn (Recruitability: 4.5, Location: 4, Athletic $: 4, Fan Base: 4, Recent success: 4, Tradition: 3)
4. LSU (Recruitability: 4.5, Location: 4, Athletic $: 4, Fan Base: 3, Recent success: 4, Tradition: 3)
5. Georgia (Recruitability: 4.5, Location: 3, Athletic $: 4, Fan Base: 3, Recent success: 4, Tradition: 3)
6. Alabama (Recruitability: 3, Location: 3, Athletic $: 4, Fan Base: 4, Recent success: 2, Tradition: 5)

I think those numbers acutally add up to put Auburn ahead of UT. So that should be switched to Auburn #2, UT #3.
