Many guys don't graduate in two years.

Walk ons can visit officially but just can't get any aid iirc

Ok thanks. Couldn't remember the rule exactly, I know it came up with Stokes. He had visited Memphis, and when he was gonna committ early people asked if he could walk on there, and get a scholarship the following year, but it was said he'd have to sit out a year, not sure if that's true or not.

I could be wrong but I think the question involved him getting an academic scholarship

I can't think of any who have gone longer, but its possible. JC is usually a two-year program. But if he's behind in school, that makes his official visit all the more alarming. I've never heard of a JC player taking official visits more than a year before they graduate. I'm not even sure you're allowed to do it. It would be akin to a high school junior taking an official visit, which is not permissable.

Idk the specifics with JUCOs, I'm just trying to present different possibilities since he doesn't have an offer. Something else is that Indian hills is one of the better JUCOs, usually a couple D1 kids a year, maybe there's someone we are looking a next year there and we are just trying to get in good, idk.

Like I said, maybe Stokes goes Yemi transfers and Maymon isn't 100%, then you have to take a shot on a big like this...all I know is that he doesn't have an offer and is visiting, I just don't see the need in all the freaking out. If the guy ends up here, THEN freak out.

JC kids can take OVs during their freshmen year if they were qualifiers out of hs

That may have been something asked, but many on the tiger boards were saying why cant he just walk on here, pay his way for a semester and then get a scholarship for the following year...they were answered with that he would have to sit out a year. Once again don't know that that is indeed true, but I would have to think there's something. I mean if Stokes was hell bent on Memphis like many said, why not pay for one semester to walk on and play immediately for them?

Agree. He is no real threat to come here right now with no offer. It's the offseason. It's slow. People will make big deals of things because there isn't a whole lot of news right now.

True. Similar to Gooch and Lamaison in football. I guess I just made the quick (and incorrect) assumption that most JUCO kids were academic casualties.

I remember that a well. Perhaps the difference was he was coming in for 2nd semester. Again I may be wrong

I assume they get 5 OVs over the course of their time at a JC. Not sure on that though

@BFQuinn: I'm told Rawane Ndiaye, a 6-foot-11 center from Indian Hills CC, who is visiting UT this weekend, does hold a scholarship offer.

Boom!!!! We got a big for the future. Can't wait to see him and Yemi rule the post next year. GBO!!!

I've decided that I will refer the him as "him". I just don't want to put forth the effort in learning how to say or spell his name.

At first I thought maybe I jumped the gun by saying there should be NO reason to take him because he may have been a solid prospect coming out of high school and just did not get along with coaches at J.C.. I looked on Rivals, and saw he was going to go to Samford, so ttfwiw.:bad:
