I doubt the hills of Tennessee will excite this kid more than the warm glam lifestyle of UF.

"Glam lifestyle of UF?" have you ever been to gainesville? Hardly glam if you ask me.

Besides, the hills of tennessee were good enough to get cali players. Play for the school, not the setting.

Otherwise hawaii would be a powerhouse.

I worked with a guy from Gainesville in Mo. He was as country as you could get. Thief & a con no less.

Chip right off the ole block....literally. I mean the streets are full of pot holes. That is, if the street isn't sand.

"Yeah, I've known (Wilson) since I was 6 years old. He used to watch me play (youth) ball and he coached my brother in high school," said Lacy, who expects his recruitment to last until National Signing Day on Feb. 4. "He's a cool guy. He's basically just like somebody my age, not young-minded, but he knows how to get along with pretty much anybody. He's a cool person."

Lacy credited Tennessee's new regime with wedging back into his recruitment after there previously was little mutual interest. Vols coaches had asked Lacy to visit this weekend, but he already had a trip scheduled to Alabama.

"The coaches started calling me and asked me to come this weekend," said Lacy, who had 1,800 yards and 26 touchdowns as a junior, "but I was going to Alabama, so they asked about next weekend. And I was like, 'Yeah.' They basically have just started contacting me. I'm wide open."

Lacy, however, has been caught by the Vols' recruiting surge.

"They have good momentum. When they talk to you, they're very interested in you and I'm pretty sure that's how they are with everybody," Lacy said. "But they also show you what kind of person they are, and they don't hold nothing back."

and glam stays out of there like the plague.

I do however actually love the place and wouldn't mind living there. It reminds me of a very hot, flat version of East TN, just way more rednecks.:eek:lol:

Do we feel like we may over recruit these RB's and scare away OKU? I know you can never have to many RB's and we may not get any of these guys but just wondering.

Also how does this guy compare to OKU?

I went there once for a game and I will NEVER go back, worst campus/city I have ever been to. :puke5:Gainesville.

No. Knoxville's roads are in much more disrepair. Lots of dirt roads, though.

LOL Gainesville is a s***hole. Glam? Miami, maybe. Definitely NOT Gainesville.

Glam? No. S***hole? No. Small and crowded? Yes. Gainesville is a nice town and UF's campus is much nicer than UT's. The women are better looking and it is easier to party. I like Knoxville better because it is a bigger city but Gainesville is much newer, nicer and has better weather.

Take off the orange glasses. Their is no comparison between UTK's campus and UF's. UF's is huge and is beautiful. If you stayed near the stadium or the O-dome then you saw a tiny fraction of the campus. Lake Alice is great and there are lots of other nice parts of campus. The town is not so great to raise a family but it is nice and has low crime. Races also get along very well here and people are friendly. I grew up in Knoxville all my life and moved here because of how nice Gainesville and the weather are. I just wish it had Knoxville's economy and entertainment.

Tennessee used to have a history of bringing rb's and making them in lb's, but Im not sure that will continue. I think you can never have enough running backs.
