Recruiting could be taking off with multiple coaching changes...

We need at least 2 more OL, 2 more DL and 1 more LB. Basically only have one slot left for a RB, TE or WR.

Clear, Richardson will fill the OL needs.
Wright would be our best bet for DT needs, but would really like one speed rushers on DE.
LB would like dawson here.

With Loften that gives us 26, not sure if we will sign 27.

We won't greyshirt Devrin. if you haven't noticed out punt returns suck. he was offered a scholly just for that.

Jackson and Richardson will be the OL

Clear is getting a shot at TE

If it meant picking up a highly rated/wanted prospect, you can bet your ass they would greyshirt DY. At least 3 kids coming in have the ability to be as good as he is in the return game. People, please stop with that nonsense.

Billy, if we had one spot left and you could take Ray Drew or Jay Rome or someone like that, would you still sign D. Young?

I don't believe it will come down to that.

However, if it did, why cut DY when we obviously need more speed on the team? And when we have nobody that can return, let alone catch, a punt?

If we sign Rome, why do we need 3 TEs (Downs, Clear, Rome). It seems logical that you would greyshirt one of the other 2 TEs.

If we sign Drew, do we need 2 DEs? I think the coaches have to decide how many recruits they want at each position.

OTOH, if we signed another speed guy like Bellamy, THEN it would make sense to greyshirt DY. Maybe.

We have 1 returning TE. One.

Sign 3 tight ends cause we only have one next year. Plus Clear will eventually get moved I think. You don't pass up talent like Drew. We aren't all that stack at DE anyway. If you sign any type of speed guy, you greyshirt Young.

You can't be serious in taking DY over the TEs or DEs. Vincent Dallas can return punts just as good as DY. Also Arnett could be a PR. We could stick Coleman or Naz Oliver back there to field a few punts. DY is not such a value when he's nothing more than a specialist.

Coaches at Michigan, Miami, & Clemson could be in some trouble. I'd expect atleast some small shakeups on those staffs. We were after alot of their commitments, add that to a great month of November where the offense exploded & the D did there part to go along with a bowl game & a possible 7-6 record & our recruiting could start taking off!

Clemson? Dabo has only been there 2 years. Is he in that bad of a spot already?

Just as much as this could help it will most likely have 0 effect.

Those schools will go out and grab big names and give new life to the program.

Even UT had very little turnover when it all came down to it.

I wouldnt get my hopes up too much over coaches being ousted. I would rather see them struggle and keep their jobs. New coaches = New Hope.

We can't ask Downs, Clear, Rome or Drew to greyshirt because they have multiple D1 offers. They won't come to UT to get greyshirted when they could go somewhere else and not get greyshirted. DY on the other hand would probably come to UT even if we asked him to greyshirt unless he'd rather play at a school like Carson-Newman.

I agree with this. I would rather a another team keep a coach that sucks than hire a new coach who might turnout to be great.
