Recruiting could be taking off with multiple coaching changes...

Well they're not gonna pull Devrin cause Dooley wants him for special teams pretty bad. Anyone heard about Ambles?

Not the football team. Summit wants Ambles to come in and go bone to bone with some big time girl bb recruits.

There's already been discussion about possible coaching staff shakeups, but now that Randy Shannon has officially been fired from Miami, any recruits they have that we go hard after? I don't think we have a ton of scholly room left, so how will this affect our own commits as well?

First Miami only has 7 commits -- two of which we were recruiting pretty hard. I think that we would go after both of them at this point. One is a de named Chickillo or something like that he is a 4 star and then there is 3 star offensive lineman Jackson that was already considering us and had visited here a couple of weeks ago.

Dabo might get 1 more year, the offensive staff could all be gone if they lay an egg in the bowl game.

Clemson is actually having a great recruiting year. Strongest that I can recall for them. I would expect for Dabo to make it for at least another year or two to see what he can do.

If not at TE, I'm curious if the UT staff sees Clear having as much if not more potential on the DL than OT? Would be nice to have him around 285 lbs. coming off the edge.

Mr. Clear has let it be known he wants a shot at tight end in college...i figure the school that promises to let him do that get his services

Let's get Clear, Rome & Drew & THEN worry about what to do. Why jump the gun about this & piss off DY or any of our other commitments?

This would be a great problem to have, though!

We don't want to piss off DY huh? Got to be kidding me. Least of my worries. What will he do decommit and go to Tusculum?

How about us be happy with what we have and be greatful we finished nov and are even able to recruit big fish. Let's not run off great kids before we even get commits from bigger players.

We apparently really like Clear at TE. He may change positions in a year or 2, but we want him as a TE.

It's really going to be a numbers crunch, Hayes could be back in play if Michigans staff gets fired. Bellamy could be in play if Clemsons staff gets fired & Chickillo could be in play if Miamis staff gets fired.

Staff hasn't called Chickillo in a while.

Just as much as this could help it will most likely have 0 effect.

Those schools will go out and grab big names and give new life to the program.

Even UT had very little turnover when it all came down to it.

I wouldnt get my hopes up too much over coaches being ousted. I would rather see them struggle and keep their jobs. New coaches = New Hope.

I would generally agree with this, but one or two usually slip through the cracks, and it would be good if we could pick up a few of those this year.

Now, as for GA and FL, I hope they continue to drift into mediocrity! No coaching changes needed.

Never know, this could be his calling.... He's continued to say he wants to go to a school that's committed to winning. As much as I hate the U, this could be something in the making...

I personally think Fulmer to Vandy makes the most sense. I am not sure that he will every get a big time job again until he proves himself again at a lesser school. He has ties to Vandy. It just seems to be his only chance to get back in the game.

I'm thinking we'll have one or two decommitments (pulled schollys) I can't figure out who it'd be though. Devrin, Carson, or Saulsberry?

Saulsberry is all Vol. Don't say Devrin around here you're going to get slayed. Carson may we'll see. Hope he doesn't. Who I would have expected us to slow play were guys like Tino Thomas, Young, and some of the other guys we could afford to slow play.

Ahh i forgot about Tino. I think if Moore wants to come, we'll drop Tino. And if we can pull Gabe and Mickey then i think we'll drop Carson.

They'll drop him if they feel better about someone better. I could also see Carson being told to look elsewhere.

This coaching staff is high on Carson....

Hey guys...long time reader and first time poster, what about a name that is a blast from the past and may get thrown back in because of the situation at Clemson...Eric Maclain, he would be a TE and a highly rated one at that and loved UT at one point...I'll hang up and listen.

Interesting point. I haven't heard anything though. Welcome and post often :hi:

Fortenberry said today that he doesnt see Tennessee calling MaClain but if he called they would listen.

Tennessee coaches headed West this week. Sounds like Byron Moore and Brendon Bigelow will get a visit early this week.
