0:30, he read the snap perfectly. Cerebral player, elite speed, elite strength, rises to the occasion. Can cover, great instincts. What a gem.
I saw that. If you also watch I can’t remember the mark, but, he made the Right Tackle jump offsides lol and the didn’t call it.

I think that’s why they didn’t call it on that interception as well. They were trying to give that Right Tackle help lol

And a weekend of football ends on a completely botched call by the officials…. Imagine that.
They gotta reinstate challenges on PI at the very minimum. It’s only right for the game. Screw the commercials/advertisements. It’s an abomination what these officials are doing to this game.

A great DL makes the secondary issues disappear mostly
Correct. When Ohio St stalemated UGA’s DLine in the playoff semi’s, Marvin Harrison Jr. and company were torching their secondary. Still have to have guys that can cover but the DLine may be the single most important unit on the defense.

Heading into 21 we all thought he would be the best receiver in the offense. He was just in his head/didn't work hard

Sure we didn't think he'd be running wide open all over the field, but Nimrod has not flashed the same speed or athleticism.

Average size, average athleticism.

Hyatt, Velus, Tillman and Bru all have great size, speed or athleticism.

Nimrod could be good, but I just don't see him being a gamebreaker because of his physical ability. He may become great at route running. I'll hold out hope for that. Otherwise he's no different than Holiday, Callaway or Merril.

Your description of Nimrod sounds kinda like reports on J Jennings…🤠

A couple things to close out the weekend and move on to Bama week.

Spooky Rocky Top is amazing and needs to be a regular part of the show.

I believe our D line will take advantage of Bama O line early and often. If Milroe gets time or scrambles they will be hard to beat. The worst thing that could happen to us is Bama gets up early - like 20 points and we abandon the run and try catch up with Joe passing. Recipe for disaster.

I don’t love our play calling at times. Really hate the predictable run up the middle for no gain. Especially after a chunk play. Just a waste of a down.

I am surprised the line is that high and that JP thinks it’s low. Not that I care but Vegas normally knows and I am guessing they don’t trust the Vols on the road.

But Bama day game is way different than Gators at night.

We shall see.

Also, I don’t want to be critical of Halzle yet, but I think we miss Golesh. I know it’s more than that, but I’m not seeing as much creativity in play selection as last year.

Patiently waiting for improvement here.

Excellent point. I’ve thought about posting something similar about Halzle. Milton hasn’t played well, but the WR’s are dropping balls and not consistently getting open and with Halzle 1st year being OC calling plays may have something to do with the WR’s not being open. Then again, it may be that Bru, Hyatt and Tillman were just better WR’s. The creativity of play calling has been lacking IMO.

They schemed the best they could but he still got home and was disruptive even when he couldn't get the sack he affected plays and stayed in his lane/assignment.
