Hell they didn’t call the one on atm when we got the first pick at the end. Here’s screenshots, but watch it in motion and it’s blatantly obvious.

I’m convinced the referee system is broken.
Worked out for us though because he ended up throwing an int this play, whereas if they would’ve called it then the play would’ve been dead

Maybe it’s just me, but I think the season so far has been a ruse to lull the second half opponents into thinking that they can play us as a one dimensional rushing team.
Offense is going to light up the next 6 opponents through the air and also on the ground. 😳

There’s an unrealistic expectation of optimism for y’all. Don’t be upset if it happens.

14-1 🤠 regardless of the means, whether by land or air.
So you’re saying we have been purposefully vanilla on offense and the only trick play was the slant and lateral to castles this past Saturday. Ok I’m listening….

I must say, the performance of the offensive line has exceeded my expectations of this year. They had a really bad game against Florida, but they just mauled a really good A&M defensive front. The pass protection was good also, but we just do not have a QB good enough to complete throws consistently.
Having Cooper back is a huge part in our OLine improvement. This current team would absolutely beat FLA.

Excellent point. I’ve thought about posting something similar about Halzle. Milton hasn’t played well, but the WR’s are dropping balls and not consistently getting open and with Halzle 1st year being OC calling plays may have something to do with the WR’s not being open. Then again, it may be that Bru, Hyatt and Tillman were just better WR’s. The creativity of play calling has been lacking IMO.
Plays have been good overall with some questionable situational calls. Players getting open and rushing attack is eating. Drops like Keytons two have been awful. I am curious why Joe looked so different against Clemson to this year… he’s made some good throws that were TDs dropped but then made some poor ones as well. My gut tells me Halzle and Heupel are just rolling with the run game because 1) it’s working and we are 5-1 2) they just don’t fully trust Milton and his capabilities to air it out more like Hooker was able too.

Either way it’s nice to see some coaches playing to our strengths and not being stubborn in their calls. Heupels O is adaptable.

Rewatched all of Milton's plays, here's how they went

Miss - high to White
Catch - behind to Nimrod
Catch - screen White
Miss - pressure avoided, DPI not called Keyton targeted
Offsides - Run on 3rd, steps out short
Catch - Nimrod
Catch - Nimrod (first down gained)
Pressure - throws incomplete to avoid sack
Miss - Nimrod in endzone, overthrown/late
Miss - 4th & 2, late to make decision could have ran
QB Draw - gains 2
Miss - Keyton drops easy TD
Catch - TD to Warren
Miss - DPI called
Miss - DPI called
Catch - screen to Sampson
QB Draw - gains 6
Pressure - scrambles and trucks LB 45, Lane called for holding play negated
Catch - Nimrod for 1st
Miss - behind Keyton
Catch - White come back route for 1st
Miss - pressure and White falls turning up field
Miss - deep ball to Keyton, overthrown
Catch - Castles for first
Miss - deep ball to Nimrod, missed DPI underthrown
Catch - Castles off deflection
QB Draw - Milton big run
INT - thrown into double coverage, should have ran
Option - Milton keeps
Catch - White for first
QB Draw - gains 5
Miss - throws late to Keyton

Bold would be what I call 100% on Milton mistakes.

Bowl games when not in playoffs are hard to measure players by imo. Joe/staff had a full month to script that entire game and only focus on Clemson...then you question the effort of Clemson since it wasn't as big of a bowl game as they usually play (not being in playoffs). Our team/staff had never played in a NY6 bowl game so it was huge for them.

Also our OL was far superior last season than this, I think Mays, Carvin, and Wright all played in Bowl Game.

I think A&M's passing defense is just that good too, but why Joe struggled against other teams this season (Austin Peay & UTSA) has been confusing.

A little more than 300 yards away from moving into the Top 10 in Vols history. Could easily pass Watson and Hardesty this year. He's about 600yds from Jalen Hurd.

and Jaylen is almost to 2000 already himself. He at 1800-1900. Not sure he stays though, hes killing it.

although id love it if he did.

I was at the Austin Peay game, and while Milton didn’t play excellent, our WR’s weren’t very good either. Drops and a fumble.
