I wonder if Heupel may give him more playing time (Nico) after the Alabama game. It makes sense to me to start seeing what we have this year with our young stud QB.

Situational. He's only going to play in blowouts. And from what I have seen so far, I'm not confident we see another blowout this year outside of UCONN and Vandy.

I don't know how much Rodney Garner makes but it isn't enough. We need to double his pay. This d-line is a wrecking crew.
If he DEMANDS they double his pay, it’d be on the table…but that has never been him. He’s not a mercenary. He’s never aspired to be a HC or even a coordinator. He wants to teach, coach and be appreciated. Per your question, he was very recently bumped up to $785,000 and with this season’s product, White will get him up to a mil imo…not that he’ll ask for it.

Us losing to UF really put us behind the 8 ball… they could back door their way into Atlanta if UGA drops to us and loses one more somewhere. We have to win out for a shot. If multiple teams had two loss UG would have tie break over us.
UF isn’t beating UGA.

Our OL vs their DL is a better matchup for us than their OL vs our DL is for them. Aside from how crazy that feels to say, I think it’s also not being talked about enough. Does Joe need to play better? Absolutely. But I also think we could win a style of game this week similar to the A&M game.
And we left alot of points on the field. The 2 4th down decisions we didn't convert and Joe's terrible INT well within FG range. We missed at 51 yarder and got super conversative before the half where I thought we needed 12 yards for another FG attempt but elected to run right up the middle. That's potential 15 points.

At worst, it's 29-13 and we all come out of the game feeling even better.

McMurphy is apparently saying Bowers is out for the season.
Would Bowers not be eligible to leave for the draft this year? I would think if he was planning on leaving that he would shut down his season and focus on getting ready to get paid. Of course there is Kirby's three-peat to consider...

Georgia's passing attack without Bowers is going to be interesting to see I just wish we were playing them sooner.

They'll have plenty of time to figure things out before coming to Neyland.
Bye
Florida
vs Missouri
vs Ole Miss
at Tennessee

We do get them at a good time of year in their schedule as we'll be the last game of a grueling 4 game stretch and a road game.
Do they drop one of those games prior to coming to Knoxville? Ole Miss is putting up a lot of points and has a lot to play for in the west. If Georgia were to drop one of those and come to town with a loss, would they be more dangerous knowing that we could keep them out of the SECCG and likely the playoffs at that point?

Rusty on Basilio with a heater of a stat:

For the Vols in 2021 and 2022, the percentage of pass interference calls on our incompletions was 22%.

For the Vols in 2023, the percentage of pass interference calls on our incompletions is 3%.
52-49 had It's consequences

If you took the school names out of the equation and just looked at the stats one team is clearly better than the other when it comes to Bama UT matchup.

Its just that the names do mean something as does playing on the road.

The Tennessee stats look more like Bama stats from years when they didn’t have young.

OTOH, we'll have more film on their post-Bowzer playcalling.
