Lmaoooooooo dont get your hopes up, Heupel has proven, hes gonna be a solid 7-10 win coach, but hes not a championship winner.
Stop it. It sucks, I know. I dig a 10 win year. I'm still happy we beat USCjr and AM. After the florida game I thought we would fold. They're still competing. We're not winning games at the swamp, Tuscaloosa, or vs UGA with Joe at QB. I hope I'm wrong about UGA, but that's the way it looks. Defense is better than last year, we knew the offense would take a hit losing the OC and some great players. Recruiting is good, if we hit the portal hard, who knows...

coaching and refereeing. This is the reason for the outcome. We should have a better play call than we did on 4th and 1 at midfield and we got conservative when we got a big lead. Refs were awful… 9-1 in penalties they held every single pass play, until the SEC off ice is booted out of Birmingham it won’t change. They’re protected.
Curious if Milton has the option to keep that? Looks like he easily had a first if he pulled and want to the outside. Don't remember the first time we went for it.

“illegal snap” which negated a fumble by bama (their only flag), a “fair catch” on a kickoff that wasn’t even signaled (also supposed to get the ball at the 25), illegally touching the ball on a punt that put the ball at the 4 instead of the 1.

3 phantom calls I’ve never ever seen until today. Since When is it an illegal snap if the center snaps the ball when the QB isn’t ready?

I agree with this. Not sure I can say refs cost Tennessee the game, but it was a very one sided set of officiating for sure. But typical.

We didn't suck. We had two aspects of the game go in Bama's direction: score off turnover, penalties.

Literally that's what it came down to. So lets stop overreacting, take a deep breath, and think "did I expect us to win this game on the road" and maybe even "we're exactly where I thought we would be at this point in the season: 5-2"

Personally, I predicted 9-3 with losses to Georgia, Bama and one of Mizzou, A&M, or UF. I'd stomach 8-4. 7-5 would be disappointing but not earth-shattering.

We played poorly and made some bad coaching decisions in second half.

However, the officiating was predictably terrible.
I can stomach losing a game to Bama on the road. I've been a Vol fan long enough to be nearly immune to that. However, for the absolute blatant one sided officiating to be one of the primary reasons for that loss is one that is a hard pill to swallow. When I can see the holds and the PI from my chair in my living room and the refs apparently can't see them from 10 yards away then they should not be allowed to officiate football games. Hey, I understand that refs are human and they are going to miss a call here and there. It is going to happen. But the ticky tack crap that gets called on us followed by the egregious things that are missed when it is the other team is stunning. The fact that we have not really gotten any sort of favorable officiating all year, even at home, smells really much like 🐂💩.

Just ranting Chavis. Not directed at you.

Suffering from BVS, I continue to watch big games after the fact if we win. So, did Joe Milton falter at the end? I do see we gave up points later.

For sure. I don’t think it’s fair to say refs cost us the game (they were bad first half and we were kicking ass). I don’t like blaming refs for losses but it’s 100% fair to call out when it’s 1 sided. Refs suck I just wish they were consistent. Even with the refs being 1 sided we could and should have won

I think he double clutched the snap so it was illegal.

On the kickoff, Dee didn’t signal for a fair catch he held his hands out to the side which signaled letting the ball go as in we are not returning it but then Seldon caught it and returned it. It’s the correct call. Just terrible.

Also the defense delay of game for disconcerting signals was lame for a slight clap.

i agree… He was trying to make a play….Having no running game/poor second half defense were bigger issues though.
Than giving up a strip for a touchdown, and missing open receivers in the endzone?? I disagree. I'm not going to go back and forth about it. I just disagree.

Gary Danielson is a douche canoe, but,

Tennessee will need these two FG's to be TD's later.

I mean, what else is there?

Shut up with the referees. Your qb is a limitation, Price and Hubbs have said as much. He is the problem and will continue to be.
These posts continue to be so obtuse. Do you know how many college football teams have a QB that limits the offense? Almost EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM. And UT does not currently have a QB on the bench that would NOT limit the offense. Complain about the fact that we are not great on offense, sure. But saying we can't do anything on offense simply because of our QB and that our offense would not be limited with Nico is plain ignorance.
