Not sure.

But, when does Tennessee get to have depth?

Seems like every year we say 'well, we have to establish depth at that position.'
Relying on the portal messes with depth. It takes a year or two (sometimes three) off the time a player is on campus. And it increases roster churn.

Teams cannot ignore the portal—especially not Tennessee with the roster mess left by the outbound transfers after Pruitt. But using it too much puts a ton of pressure on teams to bring in HS recruits behind portal players.

I’m honestly more concerned about the Missouri game than the UGA game..We will upset the Dawgs in Neyland..I hope they keep winning until they play us..Would love to be their only loss.
🎉🙌🏈🍊

The SEC will not allow an undefeated UGA to lose in Neyland. They’ll just have too much protection by the refs.

One major takeaway: we fix our redzone issues and we are a tough opponent for anyone left on the schedule.
I think we get in our way too many times and think we can’t just run the ball into the endzone. Because of it, we get cute. If we would run the read zone and Joe keep it some, it would keep the defense honest on biting on the RB which would open lanes. We need to trust we can run the ball effectively inside the 20. Mix in some motion and jet sweeps.

Need to get to 4-1. Find a way to win in 2 weeks.

If we win out I think we still have a shot to make it in the playoffs even if UGA only loses to us.

Not saying we’re that good but we could sneak into the top 10 with a road win against Mizzou and a home victory against UGA.

Like that said last year, it’s better to lose earlier in the season than later.

I disagree. There were atleast 3-4x a game we had WRs running wide open down the field the first 2 years. Only game we didnt was UGA. We probably have had 5 total so far this year with Keyton dropping two of them. The the sheer low volume of wide open WRs is more related to scheme than Joe missing WRs (which he has missed fewer this year).

Maybe defenses have figure out that part of our offense. I could buy that.

But we also don't throw the deep ball this year at the frequency we did in previous years. That could be a Joe issue or a WR issue.

I don’t mean it in a Joe is just missing the open WR way.

I think Hookers mastery of the offense and the trust the coaches had in his decision making allowed them to run a lot more option routes and that he was part of them being able scheme guys open by checking into the right plays etc.

I watched UCF a lot when Heupel was head coach there because my wife is an alum, and while he’s always been able to dial up big plays and get guys open, last year was the best I’ve ever seen his offense look and I think Hooker deserves a lot of credit for that.

Thank you for adding to the RF. Usualamente the FF's get this reaction ----->

You know Tennessee as a program and brand are close to being “back” when I’ve seen countless tweets like this last night from Alabama, Florida, and Georgia fan site “reporters” whining about how Heupel is rightfully upset we have gotten zero calls for back to back weeks and honestly the entire year. Alabama had an off-week and Georgia and Florida played their rivalry game yet they’re out here whining about the Vols.

The funniest thing about college football fans and media are assuming that their program of choice's success validates their opinion to a higher level.

Oh my team wins so let me speak authoritatively about this other team, staff or fanbase.

Give me a break.

That win was just the cherry on top. It wouldn't be significantly different imo.

Getting a road win in the SEC is difficult, doesn’t matter the opponent. Tennessee handled business last night.

Hopeful to see UT hang 42-49 at half next week to get 8 some significant playing time.

Looks like 7 is turning the corner and this team could absolutely go 10-2 or 9-3 and get a great bowl game.

Do they despise Ole Miss's too? Because they go nearly as fast as we do.
Not calling offensive holding, defensive holding or DPI on our opponents is clearly indicative of some instruction to officials from their leadership or league leadership.

This is beyond coincidental at this point.

Before the Bama and UK games we could point to trends or scratch our heads about why the refs aren't calling penalties as consistently as they did last year.

These last two games are proof that they are choosing to not throw the flag, even when the penalties are occurring right in front of their face.

We are not getting the same calls we did in 2022. The games are being decidedly officiated differently.

We spent a couple of seasons writing Hadden off as a waste of scholarship and the coaches never wavered. Betting a different script with Brandon Turnage isn't in the works. Banks didn't believe Leary could make our DBs pay for playing soft zone to break in Hadden's replacement, shortly after Hadden had worked his way into being a dawg in tight man...that was a mistake imo.

I am not sure we can beat UGA but if we take care of Missouri and UGA drops to Ole Miss—Neyland will be insane
If it sets up where the game November 18th dictates who wins the East, and if we do beat UGA in that case, then we will have a field rush that may top the one last year
