Seriously..March is a crap shoot..the eventual champion isn't the best team ..luck of the draw...as far as CRB goes this will be his most talented team .....the Grant Williams team were a load of 3 star players that fit well into Barnes style of play.....let's see how he does with this talent rich team before judging...

Name a previous coach we’ve hired that had the same level of talent Barnes had at Texas 👀 I’ll wait.oh and still came up short🥱

Before judging? He has been coaching close to 40 years. I will be cheering that this is the year that he gets it done.

Bruce did more with less.
Bruce had the most loaded roster in our basketball history with three 5 stars on the court D Crews, R. Smith, JP Prince coupled with two amazing players he inherited in Julian Smith and Chris Lofton. He also had Tyler Smith, Wayne Chism, and Cam Tatum on that team. We won the SEC and lost in the Sweet 16.

Tell me how Barnes turning Admiral, Grant, Bone, Turner, and Alexander wasn’t one of the best coaching jobs at UT ever. How many stars did those players have next to their recruiting profiles? I think all were 3 stars except Alexander.

Well you're not happy with Barnes....Tennessee could always bring back....Buzz Petersen, Donnie Tyndall, Wade Houston, Cuonzo Martin , or Kevin O'Neill.....take your pick....Forget Pearl he will never be back....some fans can't let the love go for the Cookout King...🤣🤣

Bruce has won a couple Natty's at Auburn.

I get the sentiment, but did this statistical analysis run prior to this season?

Our opponents last year were #1 most penalized in the entire country (8.5/game). And far away #1 vs conference opponents (9.5/game).

This is where folks lose me. They point out one, but not the clear other.

Fwiw our opponents this season are 100th most penalized. Almost a quarter of teams are still unhappier. Not quite the anomaly some would make it out to be.
maybe i missed it but where is this statistical analysis from prior season oppponent penalties provided?

it would be fair to share that analysis when making this statement.

otherwise, i call BS.

nothing personal but footnotes are a thing for documentation.

You all might like this. Which one were you watching Tennessee football 2008-2021? One of the best things about Manchester United stinking is that they have one of the most maniacal fanbases in the world and they are absolutely not used to losing. Even worse, their cross town rival (Manchester City) is winning everything, and when City isn't winning, their most historical rival (Liverpool) is.

This looks like best team Barnes has had here, we just beat a top 5 team on the road without two of our best players, the season hasn’t even started yet, and people in here are already fahrin’ Barnes.

Just another day in paradise!
Barnes has brought this University back to very respectable in College basketball...some forget how bad back the 90's and early 2000's were...had a few good years but Barnes has brought dignity and stability to this University.... Same thing Heupel and Vitello have done in Football and Baseball... If any coach deserves to be critized it's CKH but I will just leave that argument for LVols forum...😉

None of that is relevant. What’s actually relevant is the tape showing egregious holds (including on scoring plays!) and egregious DPI (in some cases that came on third down and would have extended drives) that went uncalled. Oh, and don’t forget the Castles “crack back block” at Florida. And our “fair catch” infraction probably isn’t even counted as a penalty, but was as bad as any of them.

It’s just hard to explain all of that succinctly without making someone sit through the tape, so the next best thing is to grab a shocking stat like that opponents were called for one (!) live ball foul in three road games… Schumpert should have shared his tweet with the pic of Baron being choked out while Bama scored a TD though.

The Irish sounding guy (or maybe Welsh?)…the fifth one.

The love affair for Bruce and hate for Barnes is really ironic of Tennessee fans lol

Barnes failing in march madness is definitely frustrating but the only difference between the 2 is literally winning one more game during the tourney lol
It's called "March Madness" for a reason. A lot of things that have nothing to do with talent have to go your way to win it all.

It's always a beautiful day when the Scum lose. We just need 7Hag to not get sacked before Klopp can put another 7 on them. YNWA

Correct ..anyone have Connecticut led by Kemba Walker to win title a years ago...or the Butler Bulldogs to be in National Championship game 2 years in a row...I didn't!!!!

Can't believe we are still b*tching about a Hall of Fame head coach putting us through the best period of basketball success in school history, with probably the deepest team we've ever had, who just upset #4 on the road in an exhibition without two starters.

Ffs, just enjoy watching him ride off in the sunset and cheer on our Vols along the way. Stop being such bitter babies.
