Can't believe we are still b*tching about a Hall of Fame head coach putting us through the best period of basketball success in school history, with probably the deepest team we've ever had, who just upset #4 on the road in an exhibition without two starters.

Ffs, just enjoy watching him ride off in the sunset and cheer on our Vols along the way. Stop being such bitter babies.
Mind blowing. I don't understand it. The same thing is happening with Heupel. The old saying is "You need to be down to appreciate up". Hell, we've been down -- a long time.

Some people just need to be unhappy.

There's room for opinion on most things but if you are anti-Barnes you are probably mentally ill. I mean Bobby Knight was a great coach but I can see how people might not like him because of his personality and actions, but there is not one thing that can be held against CRB. On or off the court.

It's called "March Madness" for a reason. A lot of things that have nothing to do with talent have to go your way to win it all.
And the irony of it all is Barnes got sh*t on so bad for FAU loss, they proceed to make it to final four, losing by a single point, and this year they’re preseason top 10 lol

Best period maybe, but what has he accomplished that other coaches haven't?
We've won the SEC before him.
We won the SECT before him.
We made the S16 before him.
We have an EE before him.
We've been ranked #1 before him.
He has the program at a consistent level, but he hasn't accomplished anything that hadn't already been done, and on top of that he has the most support from an AD that any TN MBB coach has ever had. With the support and resources he is getting he should be able to accomplish something the program hasn't done before.

I just got this picture in my head, seeing a young Checkerboards in Stokely, holding up a sign in the stands while the unicycles roll:

“FIRE Mears!
0-4 in Tourney!
We deserve BETTER!”

Could be wrong... but has any other Vols basketball coach done ALL the things Barnes has?

#1, SEC regular season title, SECT title, win 30 games, and a sweet sixteen. Not to mention he recruited 7 of our top 10 all-time ranked recruits (since ratings started) on 24/7

What I think makes Barnes the greatest coach in UT men's basketball history is that he's accomplished all of those things. He's already 3rd all time in most wins here and if he reaches the Elite Eight there won't be an accomplishment at UT that he hasn't done.

Is he the best college basketball coach? No, probably not even top 10 if you really get into debating it. But is he the best coach here at UT? Without a question.

Who would you rather have? Like I said if your a Tennessee fan and not happy with CRB then you may have to question your mental health or troll status.

This is your worst post by far.

Do I know enough about hiring coaches to make a list, no.
Again like I've always said, I dislike because this fan base likes to act like he walks on water. It's OK to say he's made the program more consisten while acknowledging his March shortcomings.

Put this on a fing banner

I'm sure CRB is waiting on pins and needles for you to come around and I heard because of your hesenticy to endorse him has the Hall of Fame committee rethinking his enshrinement.
I dont care what he's waiting on, but apparently most of this board gets butthurt because I don't think he walks on water.

You’re acting like he sucks yet he’s going to be in the HOF lol just stop

Basketball is VERY relevant. That’s what matters and it’s because of Barnes whether you like it or not REGARDLESS of his march shortcomings.

The difference is you think he sucks for march shortcomings, while most of us appreciate the relevancy and still get annoyed about march

Basketball is barely a blip on radar right meow.

I did see part of the game versus Lenoir Ryan, Rhine, Rhyne. Whateves.

That Socon transfer is somethin' else.

I like Barnes. I don't think anyone could have done any better post BP. It is true his teams seem to struggle in the tournament, but to me it's usually been because the players fail to execute and score points for long periods of time. I guess you can still blame the coach for it, but at the end of the day if you miss all shots for 10 minutes you're going to struggle against good teams no matter who the coach is. On a positive note that Knecht guy is really good at scoring. Great addition. Also, Gainey so far has proven to be a good shooter, so I feel better about our chances this year. We have a really solid team.

Well you're not happy with Barnes....Tennessee could always bring back....Buzz Petersen, Donnie Tyndall, Wade Houston, Cuonzo Martin , or Kevin O'Neill.....take your pick....Forget Pearl he will never be back....some fans can't let the love go for the Cookout King...🤣🤣

Donnie was getting hot you just didn’t like his accent😂😂 I’m content with Barnes because of what he’s done here..we weren’t relevant before and now we are..I’m just saying don’t expect a championship banner with Barnes is all😂😂 he can have all the talent in the world and make a final 4 nothing more.he’s hit his ceiling.
