Getting to a Final Four would cement him among the best imo. I don't expect it though. I would live for him to take this team to an Elite 8 at least but March is March.

I'm just happy to have him and happy to be relevant. Consistently making Sweet 16s is fine with me for this program, and we shouldn't have any reason to expect more based on our history.

If we win 25 games this year with our OOC schedule, we beat a lot of really good teams. And come on, 25 wins is more akin to 10-2 than 8-4.

Also, totally ignored my point about the elevation of the program, but I knew you would.

Basketball is VERY relevant. That’s what matters and it’s because of Barnes whether you like it or not REGARDLESS of his march shortcomings.

The difference is you think he sucks for march shortcomings, while most of us appreciate the relevancy and still get annoyed about march

In all fairness he was a HOF coach before he arrived here we can’t keep doing this 😂.he earned it on his own through 500 years of coaching..now he’s solidifying it here.

Tony Stewart killed a race car driver on the track during a dirt track race. The guy was pissed at Tony for wrecking him and he walked on the track, during the race, to confront Tony when he drove by him. He was hit by Tony's car, and everyone said Tony hit him on purpose. Bottom line is that Tony was not charged with murder. Strange things happen in sports.

Because that point is totally irrelevant, who doesn't want to beat a top 10 team? Replace FAU with TN and you get the same thing.

LOL, let's fire our well-respected coach who restored this program to national relevance from a five-alarm dumpster fire because there's like, absolutely 1,000 other coaches who can do the same thing--trust me, bro.

I'm as frustrated as anyone in re: Barnes' March woes, but to fire him for an unknown (Bill Self ain't coming here, bro) is malfeasance. He's likely only going to be coaching for a few more years anyway.

That’s where I am with it as well..my only problem with him is his offense philosophy..he easily could have had 2 or 3 championships by now but he’s old school and the game has passed him up..it’s only a matter time of time before Phillip Fulmer comparisons start getting thrown around.

This is all great stuff!…how can we fault a university as a whole makings bad hires when we had a s***ty incompetent AD.we could have easily had a good basketball coach way before Barnes but we will never know..Martin,Tyndall,Peterson are all prime examples of that.I give all the credit for our short glimpse of relevance to Bruce..he kicked it off in my opinion..

Publicly groping women who aren't your wife is a bad look, and Michigan state more than anyone in the country can't hire someone unless they're squeaky clean, especially with anything related to women.

I've concluded over the years of reading your posts you don't know much about Tennessee football or basketball history. If we win 25 games, that will be one of the 10 best seasons we have ever had in 116 seasons of playing the sport... Also, Rick Barnes has produced most of our really good seasons.

I'll NEVER say a Sweet 16 run is a disappointing season especially if we win 25 regular season games before getting there.

Bruce Pearl's first season showed how bad of a HC Buzz Petersen was...Lofton and Jujuan Smith were recruited by Petersen.... actually Smith was a walk on but Petersen let Lee Humphrey go to Florida so Smith could be on scholarship...
