Just making the dance isn't competing for a championship, making runs is.

And yeah if Heupel made the playoffs and got bounced early by a lower ranked teams 3 times and then made the last 4( I go 4 here because the playoffs are smaller) people would be ready to find someone who can get over the hump.
You ain't makin' the dance buddy.

And NC State in '83. That compares to someone like Mizzu winning a Natty in football.
Two biggest upsets in NCAA tournament history.. Championship games

N.C.State over Houston
Villanova over Georgetown

Wanted Clyde Drexler and Phi Slamma Jamma to win...and Georgetown was so dominate in 1985...

It wasn’t a mistake to let Fulmer go…. It was a mistake to let mike Hamilton hire his replacement…. This administration is the number one reason we are good in almost all sports…. we will carry on when Barnes leaves.
Uh, we paid for that mistake for 15 years. Not only did were fire CPF very prematurely, we hired a punk loser, which led to the descent into misery.

But we didn't have competent leadership then.
TN wasn't good at any sport under Hamilton. Hell panic hiring Derek Dooley should've told you Hamilton was an idiot.
Try this. Take a couple of hours to sober up a little and think about this. Have you any idea the the laughing stock that Tennessee would be if we fired Barnes? Good Lord, it make burning couches and throwing mustard covered golf balls look lame.

Bruce Pearl made me care about Tennessee basketball. I hadn't watched MUCH TN b-ball up until 2005. After we beat TX that 1st season, we started going to TBA and we bought season tickets the following year and kept them until BP was fired. I loved Bruce and the energy he broght to a "dead" program. The thing about BP I didn't like, was that he brought in some pretty rough players. To me, Pearl's funnest teams to watch (Lofton, Smith, Bradshaw) were actually Buzz Peterson's recruits and they were high character guys. I'm not saying Bruce signed a bunch of thugs but there were a few times his players made the news for all the wrong reasons. Rick Barnes doesn't recruit low character players. TN isn't getting drug through the mud on ESPN or the local news anymore. I'm more proud of what Barnes has built, satisfied with his results, and I hope he stays at TN until he decides to retire. I also think Heupel and Tony Vitello are fantastic ambassadors for the University of Tennessee. We are in a very special time at UT. I'm more proud to be "everything" VOL fan than ever. People that can't see how good we've got it are either fools or trolls or both

That's why you don't outright fire him. You make a backroom deal he "retires" then I'm a year if he still wants to coach he gets another job.
????? Why would a backroom deal need to be struck to fire him and have him look for another job? "Hey coach, yeah you're done but you can get another job if yantu." Stupid

Phil had won 5 games 2 out of three years and recruiting had dropped significantly….. it was time to move on…. our mistake was having an administration that didn’t care about athletics….. Plus hiring limp wristed AD’s…. we are strong from the top on down now.

Around 28:56 in today's pod, Brent mentions Hype calling a trick play against UT Martin last year and he and AP share a little chuckle about it, any back story to this do we have bad blood with UT Martin? Lol

Tony Stewart killed a race car driver on the track during a dirt track race. The guy was pissed at Tony for wrecking him and he walked on the track, during the race, to confront Tony when he drove by him. He was hit by Tony's car, and everyone said Tony hit him on purpose. Bottom line is that Tony was not charged with murder. Strange things happen in sports.

The kid that Stewart hit also had drugs in his system if I remember correctly.

From all my research into nutrition I think I agree most with these rules.

Eat 25mg or more of fiber each day from FOOD sources
Eat 0.7 grams or more of protein x goal weight (so if the goal is 200lbs x .7 = 140 grams of protein or more each day)
Eat calories based on goal weight...a starting number is 12 x goal weight (so 200 x 12 = 2400 calories a day)

You do those 3 things and avoid process foods for the rest of the calories, whether it's coming from carbs or fats and just find which you prefer/works best. Some folks that's low carb and high fat and some folks do better/like more carbs and less fat but as long as the majority is coming from whole foods you'll be good.

I love potato chips and it's probably the worst way and most processed ways to get carbs LOL...but when I do the stuff above it melts off and I feel better.
This is pretty solid advice - not perfect for everyone... but this is the fuel model for a body to burn.

Add in exercise and it multiplies the effect.

Why are we forced to unsubscribe to emails we didn't subscribe to? One of the most annoying things of the internet era.
Agreeeeed. My uneducated opinion is that I think it’s because implied consent is a rampant (albeit dangerous) part of the digital advertising world. There’s probably a hundred different ways you can end up on a distribution list, ranging from simply google searching or accessing a website to purchasing a product or accepting a websites cookies. It’s ultimately a privacy matter and it probably happens anytime you click or forgoe reading terms and conditions.

What gets me is the tactics used by various websites to make it happen. Like I apparently just signed up for ESPN breaking news alerts on their app because they had a banner blocking the different tabs on the app. You essentially had to click the banner to remove it to browse the app. Didn’t want to but if I wanted to navigate the app that was really the only way forward. Now I’d have to go figure out how to undo that in my settings, but. Won’t because I’m too lazy, just like every time I’ve ever agreed to terms and conditions that I didn’t actually read.

(Allegedly) bad blood with their coach over the recruitment of his son, Ty Simpson. No idea if it’s true.
