Coaches coach based on how the game is called…. I coach at the middle school level and we teach how to hold from mini-mites all the way through High School…. we also teach defensive lineman how to keep the lineman from getting a good grasp on you.I’ve noticed this type of hold going uncalled in college and nfl games over the past couple years. I always assumed it was a panic move by a guy who got beat. Never occurred to me it might be something that was coached. You know, because it’s an obvious hold.
It was cool on Saturday with the alumni POTS band included. Wish I could upload a video. I would post the Islands in the Stream song they played. Here’s the whole group together tho:I like that ESPN said before half this past week that the Pride of the Southland Band performance would be streamed on their app. It used to be the custom to show the bands, but that doesn't happen anymore.
I know we have several people who really like to see our band perform, including (but not limited to) some former band members or parents of band members. One of my great childhood memories is the sound of our band playing "Down The Field" when we scored. View attachment 593577View attachment 593578
What about the RPO play Joe threw out of? That was a new wrinkle I loved. We have been running that QB sweep the past few games. I bet that we throw a pass out of that same look this week and I bet it is in the redzone too.
