Recruiting Football Talk VII

If Banks decides to leave or we move on from him, derek mason would be my top choice. He would bring in some different guys but he would definitely keep garner.
i would rather get a new age defensive coordinator that is use to playing these style of offenses… Masons last defense was ranked 97th at Oklahoma State.

We talking offense or defense? I think last year showed they could develop. He's really only had two full recruiting classes and under the stank of ncaa investigations. If its the same year five i'll agree but I honestly think we're limited on offense because Milton just doesn't have the ability to run the system at a high clip.
Mainly referencing offense, I just dont get how or why we didn’t pursue a transfer qb this past year. Ole Miss somehow landed 2, one of those being a 3 year starter even though Dart basically had the job locked down. Milton is just not a good qb

Pass.

Don’t want his guys either
It’s more about the Jimmy’s and Joe’s. No one wanted Kevin Steele but he has improved Bama’s D from last year (no, I do not want him). Our D line is SEC caliber but other than Beasley our LB unit is terrible. That affects the back end which does not have stars but is better than the last few years. Our O line is not SEC caliber which is showing up in drive killing penalties. Milton generally won’t take over a game but at one point in the 3rd quarter he was 17-22 for 230 which is enough to win if we had some semblance of a running game and don’t turn it over twice. This O cannot get behind the sticks or afford penalties…

So who we getting at DC? I’ll wait for y’all’s answer.

Going to make y’all mad when we hire a new DC and he wants to bring in all new guys lol. Bye bye Garner and Eckler. You want be getting any sort of good DC if they can’t bring their own guys.

Try hiring someone and telling them “no, we have our guys, go play nice with them” 😂😂😂
I doubt Heup will fire CTB for another year or two. They will replace CWM and let attrition handle any others. JMO.

That does not mean he should not. Heup is locked in, the next hire for DC needs to be the right guy who already understands SEC football with capable assistants who can recruit SEC football players regardless of what happens to the rest of the coaching staff on D and ST. The next guy would be wise to build a bridge to Rodney and Eck - but they are grown azz men. They can make their own decisions. Heup needs time to build bridges to the right guy at DC if he has not already, because that guy will determine his future on Rocky Top long term.

But there is no doubt in my mind 'a change is gonna come' at DC down the road. That dude is situationally tone deaf with his in-game decisions at times and we now have three seasons on which to judge the progress of the position groups on that side of the ball.

Ill use Masons year at Auburn because that was Banks first year here (I believe)

Auburn - 21.8pts/g
- rush yards per game: 126.2
- pass yards per game: 231
- total yards per game: 357.2

UT - 29pts/g
- rush yards per game: 148.5
- pass yards per game: 256.4
- total yards per game: 404.9

Mason isn’t that much better, if at all. I could argue that our team was worse than Auburns, I could argue our schedule was harder, etc.

Want to bring in new coaches to save 50 yards?

I was wondering this yesterday, and this confirms it. Why did we at least not take the pep band? And no cheerleaders, I can't remember any P5 school that has pulled that one before.

I've never known that to happen. We always sent at least a pep band and the cheerleaders. To send neither is extremely odd.

Im trying to remember, I know Texas and Bama had a spat, and Texas didnt send their band, but they at least sent the cheerleaders did they not?

From what im seeing in the comments, we didnt bring them to Mizzou in 21 either (I dont remember) reason being, Mizzou parks them in the upper decks away from everything because their stadium is so small.

Keep saying it louder!! We are being punished. The coaches and the team know it! They are growing weary fighting it every single game on the road and at home. It finally came to a head yesterday. We have been playing through it with success all year. We have to have been told that we had better stay quiet all year about it, or it will extend into next year. If this is so, I am baffled how you can punish 18-22 yr old young men like this.
It is really obvious. Data and video prove it. Add in the completion of the NCAA actions.

Apparently we were usurpers to King Satan's throne last year. They are concerned we will mess with Prince Bowl Cut next.
