I know he's the pipe dream for a lot of fans, but does anyone think AM will throw the bag at Urban Meyer? They've shown money is no object, and there's got to be a number out there even he can't refuse.
Say 12 million over 10 years fully guranteed.
I think the results would be same as Jimbo. Meyer was a great coach, but all the baggage hurts him.

If it took what happened Saturday against Mizzou for us to beat Georgia this Saturday, I would happily accept it. I live down here, and I’m so tired of these cocky fans. They need to be humbled. A beating to us would help that.
Bet you get tired of grown men barking in your face all the time..I would’ve probably already punched someone..lol

Luke warm take.

I think consistency in staff is key go future results. As much as I dont want to see playing 10 yrds off the ball, I redact my fahr Banks posts from the game.

I think we got to stay the course in that situation, but, the lack of development, and continual reliance on older, less talented players at safety makes me think a reevaluation is necessary.

Tennessee isnt a place where we cant stockpile talent. There is NO reason we cannot flip this roster. The perpetual 'next year' argument is out the window.

11 wins was an anomaly with once a decade talent at QB, WR, and OT.

In reality, I had us at 9 wins. We stumbled at Florida. That is THE only real black eye this far.

This is Y3. Tennessee cannot forget in 15 years we sucked eggs. Look at how far we have come in the White era. I mean wtf were we doing?

Heup is the guy. And I like Tim Banks, like Willie Mo, and even the DL. Love Rodney Garner. But,

1- Recruiting has to be better. No more bargain bin shopping to 'coach em up.' Time is ticking.

2- Defensive game planning has to be as aggressive on the road as it is at home.

3- Now, on to Halzle

He doesn't have to be. Daniel Bituli wasn't a speed demon either. Getting a split get faster and adding lateral mobility and quickness = a couple more stops every game.

Look at the difference in Aaron Beasley from year to year. That's what offseason work does. Herring won't get that fast/quick, but he can improve. And a marginal improvement will go a long way on the field.

Anything else you'd like to be an a$$ about this morning?
No need to call me an a$$. I’m just disagreeing with your opinion.

Everyone can work and get better but if you’re thinking he’s going to improve and be a starter in the coming years, I hope you’re dead wrong.
If you’re not we have a lot more 7-5 or 8-4 seasons coming.

I think we all need to temper expectations for next year. The o line, interior D line and defensive backfield, depth at linebacker, uncertainties at wr and TE.

There are a lot of question marks..... But the future is bright. I just don't see 2024 being THE year.
We haven't recruited well enough for next year to be THE year. Not to mention we'll still be limited by scholarship reduction because of Dumbass Pruitt. Even if it's just two a year, that's a big deal on a team in serious need of depth. Nico could be all-world, but he can't do it by himself. I just don't see us having the horses for next year to be THE year. I mean, making the expanded playoffs? Sure, that's possible. But I don't see us winning the SEC or the NC. And I assume that's what people mean by THE year.

This is some dumb s***.

Georgia is 67%. If they went 7-5 or 8-4, I guess they would be thrilled and happy.

It’s about potential. We have everything needed to win championships and we are a top ten program all time. It’s time our fans expected that too.

I congratulate A&M. They put huge amount of money into football. They said we will give you everything you need to win championships. Can’t do it? You’re gone. You know the deal before you sign.

I've been out on Martinez for a while. Looking at the difference in our defense between home and away, I have to say I'm leaning toward Banks needing to be replaced as well. Stability comes from your head coach. Changes below him are expected to occur. If you're succeeding, coaches move up and some move on. If you're not succeeding, you replace them with coaches who will succeed.

Wasn’t 2024 always supposed to be the year? Now everyone’s mad bc we overachieved in year 2?

You think 2024 is going to be “the year” when we’re gonna have a near freshman QB who’s gotten almost no snaps…. A receiving corps full of guys who don’t look that impressive, have to replace at least three but possibly all five offensive lineman, losing our best linebacker in Beasley, and possibly all our best defensive lineman not named Pearce?

2024 ain’t going to be “the year” at all.
