I've been blowing this horn since he was hired, but there comes a point in every coach's career that he becomes overpaid for his output. When Jimbo was given his stupid contract at A&M, he became overpaid. He has a ridiculous safety net to fall into when he sucks and gets fired, so his incentive to give 100% is not there.

I would bet Nico doesn’t play in florida game even if we were to lose by multiple touchdowns. And I bet he gets time second half of utsa regardless of how the florida game goes.

They are not going to ruin him at this point by throwing him in there in a huge game unprepared.

They probably should promote Petrino. He’s a good coach. Best proven winner they’re going to get that’s available. He’s fixed their putrid offense in just a few months while their defense has totally fallen apart without Mike Elko

We stick to the run game and we’ll beat uf even if by a close, heart pounding margin. We lean pass and aren’t better than we were against AP and we could lose. That said if we pass better than we did against AP then we should win by a comfortable margin. I’m expecting the game to be “close” until early in the 4th quarter and hope at that point we start pulling away.

They are gonna take away the run and make Joe beat them after what they've seen....that is what I would do.

We are toast on 3rd and long.

If you could have seen the debacles that older people like me have witnessed vs Florida you would understand the doubt from some... but saying that Tennessee wins 31-14.....

I'm hoping beyond hope we thrash the gators Saturday. My mind says a close, 4 point win. My heart says it's the swamp, no way we win. I'll be at Neyland watching regardless.

Yea don't get why trying to push him...he knew when he committed this was Joe's year ... but we knew this wanting Nico would start like purchasing a shiny new toy just to see what it can do...

I think there’s a difference between writing someone off completely Vs thinking what you’ve seen trend wise in a player AND the entire offense under that player has been while being the starter. Two different things imo. Most hope for the best obviously but lowered expectations for the offense/passing game. Basically echoing what LA Vol had stated earlier. Hopefully fans keep it largely respectful to the player and his family

I have already seen people calling for Nico while others are claiming Joe just doesn’t have it. We are 2 games in to a new season with a new offensive coordinator and haven’t needed anyone to be a hero in lopsided matchups. How about we draw conclusions after a larger sample size is all I’m asking.

What have we really seen from Joe? He played in 2 games before getting hurt and was a little inconsistent. He finished last year strong and looked like he had really made positive strides. I think it’s too early to think that he won’t shake the rust and live up to his potential. Especially when play calling has been meh and the receivers haven’t done him any favors.

I bet the tight ends eat. I predict a TD for Warren and Castles. We loosen a defense early and then hit them big down the middle and sideline. UF will focus on the deep ball and wideouts. We haven’t shown much to the tight end yet and I bet we do a lot this week.

Agreed, think designing a play or two for warren could help get Joe and the offense in a rythm. He’s a big target and pretty sure handed.

Okay check out the 90's and see how many times Florida broke our hearts in the Swamp and Knoxville too...Peyton Manning line 1 and Tennessee teams were top notch...
