That's loser talk
It's a good thing I'm not playing, then.

Anyway, I find like with most things in life that it's my expectations that let me down. I've seen way too many instances of people fired up, expecting a whooping of the other team, calling people doubters and NegaVols and what not, and then on the occasions where we lose some of those folks turn more vitriolic than anyone.

I'm hoping beyond hope we thrash the gators Saturday. My mind says a close, 4 point win. My heart says it's the swamp, no way we win. I'll be at Neyland watching regardless.
I can't help but feel like they are getting an intense week of coaching and we are gonna win by 21. Heup is gonna get them whipped up

The coaches weren't trying to be vanilla Saturday; the offense wasn't executing to plan. Nobody wants to succeed more than Joe Milton, but Game Joe is not the same as Practice Joe, and the receivers had difficulty adjusting. When the adrenaline is pumping, Joe tends to throw high or behind the receivers. He ups the velocity. The WRs are being asked to catch difficult balls. Trying to balance a talented, but inconsistent, QB with very good WRs who're not getting the ball they expect creates what we saw Saturday. We'll just take the W and continue to find a workaround for games where Joe isn't at his best and the WRs aren't hauling in the catches.
I wish Joe would have one of those Joe Burrow moments when somebody knocks the total piss out of him, and it jars something loose in his brain, and then he goes on to play one of the best seasons in history.

We need to run a lot more Skinny Posts with our slot guys. Mixing in some crossing stuff from our outside guys. Will eventually open up the long throws. Safeties can’t be everywhere.
Yup. Heupel said VA and AP both sat the safeties high and guarded the go-routes along the sideline but said the middle was wide open but we didn’t take those shots. He’s going to have some stuff set up to exploit that for UF if they try to do the same thing. No doubt in my mind.

Anyone else says this and they would be attacked. Lol. Glad you posted the truth, LA. I swear I would give him a damn Xanax before games and he would probably complete 90% of his passes. Lol

I mean, seriously they should try to give him half a Xanax tomorrow for practice just to see how he does... anything to chill him out... The good thing is he's already mentioned not losing in the state of FL so he will be ready, just gotta keep him cool headed.

So, we just gonna assume they were having a casual conversation and he inexplicably burst into a full-on phone sex session for no reason?
who knows? guys do really stupid things when it comes to sex…. Look at the guy that was fired while masturbating on his zoom call. She could definitely be lying but the point is to not put your self in that situation.

Someone get Joe some beta blockers.

AP scoring 13 on us was not the reason we looked bad. Maybe we watched different games.

We looked bad in the passing game, but AP also had ZERO defensive penalties called on them.

We also had 3 penalties on successful passing plays against our WRs that erased 3 completions for 23 yards.

It had an impact, AP was getting away with penalties we got called.

I have said that same thing since his first 2 games at Tennessee. It's obvious that adrenaline is his problem.

I don't know if vanilla is the right word, but Tennessee didn't run it's offense after the scripted start on Saturday. Interpret that however you wish, but it isn't how the game would be called against any team where there was a risk of losing and it isn't how the game would be called if the goal was to prioritize getting Joe and the WRs on the same page.

I guess I didn’t have unrealistic expectations of Joe going in.

I just wanted 62% or better and not to take too many sacks or turn it over.

My biggest complaint with his play so far has been his lack of keeps in the RPOs, if the defense doesn’t have to worry about the QB keeping it to pass or run then it makes those plays less dynamic.

Gosh I hope so. Can’t stand a L to them. Especially when they are total garbage. Down at halftime…. UT has to make something happen in that situation. Saban put a rookie quarterback in for the national championship at halftime and it saved them a championship. No reason why Heupel can’t do the same IF UT is struggling
So you are gonna go all in and assume that Nico is gonna play like Tua...?...nevermind the fact that he had a great WR corp and a great OL to work with...and...it was after a whole season of getting tons of reps...I don't think Nico is a that place and our WRs and OLs sure as heck ain't great either.

I missed 100% of the game on Saturday. I watched this morning (thanks, @Freak) and have thoughts:

-Remember in the 2016 Florida game when we couldn't catch crap in the first half and then had a near-flawless second half, scoring 35 points? I do not think most of the drops by our receivers were thrown "too hard". They were well within what I would expect for a crossing route.

-Joe needs to calm down.

-Cooper Mays coming back is going to be great for us.

-Worst-officiated College Football game I've ever seen. I knew the outcome and was still screaming at my phone. We need to launch an investigation into the bank accounts of these refs. They obviously had some skin in this game. Fire them all.

-Speaking of refs, I'd say they probably cost us 14 points. So, like last week, we are a couple drops and/or ref decisions away from a much different conversation, score-wise.

-All our RBs look great. Wright obviously the best, Small busted off several 10+ yard runs this week, Sampson 4 TDs week 1. It's good enough we can lean 100% on it if we need to.

-We have not seen anything too crazy from our playbook this season. If you think Heupel & Company are not saving their best for SEC play, you're mistaken. super vanilla game plan this weekend.

-Defense still bright. DBs need to TURN THE HELL AROUND.

It’s worth taking a look at only if the offense isn’t doing anything and UT is down. That’s the only shot you have left. I’m not saying he’ll come in and play great but none of us know. We’ll just have to see. I wouldn’t put it past Heupel in that situation
