Man the love for Deion is so weird...
4-6 and 2nd to last in the Pac-12 one of the worst defenses in all of college football. His lack of a run game makes the Air Raid offenses look like damn Army.
All this after he overhauled and bought his entire roster basically, but yeah "give him a break cause you can't get the talent to Colorado" well, why did he take the job then... oh I know control. You think A&M is going to let Deion have that same level?
Now if it was Arkansas...Jerry Jones might have enough pull to make it happen. I'm not sure if A&M needs the "buzz" that Deion brings since they already have a fanbase that shows up to games regardless.
I love Small. He's a great RB. He ~might~ grad transfer somewhere to be a RB1. I hope he doesn't and I think he's all Vol but I'm not banking on anything these days. Why wouldnโt Small return?
Yeah I think Small and Sampson get majority of attempts and Seldon will have an opportunity to prove himself and earn more. But everyone here has been counting out Small every season.
Out of curiousity - when has a conference punished one of its own teams? I can't remember any tbh but I'm sure it's happened before
Good catch. So Harbaugh will get a three-year show cause from the NCAA after and in addition to the conference action? Because that is what the NCAA did in the Tennessee case. The NCAA absolutely did not let it stand at league action. He gave out an illegal hamburger or a hot dog or something and then lied about it to the NCAA. I mean both of them did.![]()
Strange but true: SEC suspends Bruce Pearl
If this is what you expected to happen today, you have much better foresight than I. From ESPN.com news services (and originally brought to my attention via Twitter by Andy Katz):Southeastern Conference commissioner Mike Slive has suspended Tennessee coach Bruce Pearl for the Volunteers' first...www.espn.com
At the timeโฆ. it was stated that the SEC was trying to punish him to fend off the NCAAโฆ. Tennessee eventually parted ways with Pearl before the NCAA ruling.Good catch. I mean both of them did.Harbaugh also had some other infractions like an illegal number of coaches at practices and I don't remember what all.
The Pearl action by the SEC was also interesting for a fact noted by ESPN at the time: "You could forgive [sic] the SEC if it's eager to show its disciplinary chops in the face of a brewing scandal involving the country's best football player in Cam Newton." Of course, they omitted the word "not," and sloughed off the whole thing as a joke: Newton won a title, so the SEC punished Tennessee instead.![]()
