We had Neyor commited before he changed his mind. Norman-Lott and Campbell were good transfers. Some of it is subjective- do they fit? What position? How much did we actually watch of them? Will they translate to the SEC?
I agree here, they were good, solid guys but not flashy.... biggest names out there.

We look for people who fit specific roles.

I agree there will be outrage over #13 but never to this extent. No P5 13-0 conference champ will ever be left out. There’s also not much outrage outside of the specific fanbase when a team is left out of the dance

At least with CBB they have models they tell you they follow and tell you what they care about. Your record vs top 50 teams isn’t subjective. CFB committee bases their rankings off subjective bs and they aren’t even consistent
Sure, I’ll grant you that CBB is more rigorous, and less subjective - but it’s still an “analytics and eye balls” process for seeding and who ultimately gets in.

And I think there will be ample outrage over #13 when the time comes. But i guess time will tell there.

I’m envisioning an SEC/B1G team that loses early (without their QB! Yikes).

For the Braves fans

Chiefs missing Hill this year I feel like. These receivers just aren't good enough to win it all. I feel like they're going to see some more decline, just can't afford the elite players around Mahomes like they could before they gave him half a billion.

I've always found that dynamic to be a contradiction in salary capped leagues.

You can't max out your salary and be competitive in the long-term. You can chose one or the other, just not both (despite the rhetoric they put out to the press).

Mehlen may be a weirdo, but he’s dead-on in this instance.
It's honestly hilarious to watch. Like watching someone attempt to evenly divide 5 $1 bills three ways.

When the committee releases a set of criteria with no official order of precedence, and prioritizing those criteria in different orders gives different results, there is not going to be a solution here fellas. You are just talking in circles.

No, my justification is that they (along with Georgia, OSU, Oregon) are better than this version of FSU.

I don’t particularly care what FSU did before Travis got injured (and they were REALLY good, top 4 worthy), but this version of FSU just is not.

My argument has less to do with Bama being good enough and more to do with FSU not being good enough.

Of course, your arguments are correct. No underdog has ever won a game in college football history.

Why don't we start caring about these kids. So many get injured during the year in what are now meaningless games. Let's just let Vegas pick the best teams in September and they can practice for 4 months until playoff time. We can watch them play exhibition games with the other teams. We know Vegas or smart people are never wrong about who the best teams are.

Not really, though. We and Mehlen are arguing that they should prioritize on-field results over their other criteria, because it’s more consistent with our notions of competitive fairness. If they wanted to avoid this criticism, their criteria should have been clear and consistently applied across the seasons (my suspicion is they prefer it this way so they can just basically put in who they want).

That's why Tom Brady became the goat. He took less than market value for years to avoid that contradiction.

For the Braves fans

There’s that elusive LF.
