According to AP Holden Staes is visiting this weekend (ND TE) and next weekend Southeastern Louisiana TE Bauer Sharp is visiting next weekend. Sharp was a high school QB and has solid stats this year including 5 rushing TDs! Along with 288 yards receiving and 3 receiving TD's this year. Kinda sounds like a Fant type who can get those tough short yards. (And can throw)

It’s absolutely wild that they are still against hiring a man. I realize the demographic of that fanbase, but still, get over yourselves. Hire the best available regardless of gender.

Should be clear to all by now that this isn't how the world works anymore. Long gone are the days of hires being based on merit.

Huh? First I've heard this. Thought this was a slam dunk for the vols? Something must have changed. Character issues? Demands?

I pay about 0 attention to LV Basketball but hiring Lawson would be stupid. I don’t understand the desire to continue trying to hire only former Lady Vols part of the Pat tree. It’s dragging this program down. How many programs out there handicap themselves by saying “Let’s make sure we only hire an alum.”

If Tennessee is serious about restoring the program, they’ll fire Pretty Holly and go drop a bag for a proven head coach with Final Four appearances and distance themselves from the Pat tree. Stop trying to be Pat. There will never be another Pat. JMO.

Respectfully, this has nothing to do about Pat. I did not mention that in my post nor do I advocate Pat’s “tree”. Look at her resume….assistant coach with the Celtics, took over Duke and in her second year she went 26-7. She is smart, tough and determined.

I simply tossed out the idea. No need for name calling and attacks.

Not trying to look for another “Pat”……there is not one. I am only TRYING to provide other potential options.

Not sure - he didn't say why Jolly wasn't visiting anymore, just that it was TN's decision. My guess is they like what they have out of Ethan Davis and the UConn guy is more of a flex TE / WR type. And we need someone who is a better blocker but can also catch pretty well.

Bauer Sharp sounds better than Staes, but both are Fant type builds. So I’m fine either. Wanted Joly, but TE isn’t a position that gets me super excited one way or the other.

Not sure - he didn't say why Jolly wasn't visiting anymore, just that it was TN's decision. My guess is they like what they have out of Ethan Davis and the UConn guy is more of a flex TE / WR type. And we need someone who is a better blocker but can also catch pretty well.

The gif was because, the way everything was shaping up, I pretty much assumed he was in the boat. Very surprised it’s not happening.

Hate it for Joly as I think he wanted to come here. But we’re looking for bigger TEs who can block too. Joly is basically a big receiver. If UConn had not played UT this year, he would not have been on fan’s radar or someone we would want the staff to pursue.

Well the tweet from him did throw in the advertisement that his weekend was now open so maybe he's just focused on the highest offer and that's his priority? Or perhaps character issues popped up? Or as others mentioned, we have legit interest from more traditional TEs that fit what we want to do better? Maybe the kid just priced himself out of what we were willing to do so there was no point in wasting time with the visit?
