It seems Heup has gotten too complacent with his staff as well, all signs point to WM coming back as well as banks, all in the name of staff continuity and nothing more. Banks, WM, and even BJM haven’t shown their worth in keeping another year

ONL was a good rotation player. Pili was hurt almost immediately. GJL was okay, I really thought we could have and should have done better from the portal. I like Walker, though some do not. Did Turrentine even play that much? You kind of highlighted my point for me. We go after difference makers on offense. We do not pursue difference makers on defense. At least, not since we lost out on Verse. We look for role players when there are difference makers out there. We need to go and get some of those guys. But that's not how we recruit the portal on defense.

Not at all. You seem confused. And angry. I'm blaming him for zero TEs in our recruiting class. Our poor recruiting of the portal on defense is a whole different discussion.

I mean he had some setbacks from injury, but he also wasn't a super high rated guy outta HS.

I think the biggest disservice was probably that he wasn't playing STAR. But could have been his lack of size, McDonald being 2" taller and almost 20lbs heavier may have been a better body for that position.

I'm fine. And I make a lot more sense than Checkerboards who just hates everything and everyone. I'm not screaming to fire a Head Coach, or even a coordinator. Maybe the DB coach, but no one else. I just see a need to vastly improve our recruiting in both the high school ranks and the portal.

Slaughter appeared to hit harder on the field, despite the size difference.

There’s not much to get. Mike Norvell saved his career by attacking the portal. Tony V used it to elevate a moribund baseball program to the top tier of the sport.

It’s a valuable tool, but you got to make good evals and you got to attack it. Maybe we are, behind the scenes, but we’ll see.

Edit: oh, and can’t forget about Dorkwitz. The portal helped make that guy a 10-win coach. Dorkwitz!

I've been expressing my opinion calmly and rationally. Not sure how that is "melting down". I haven't even resorted to using "damn" when referring to your posts.

Not being negative. I've expressed concerns about recruiting for several days now. I've always criticized CWM. The only thing new, and it wasn't so much an "attack" as it was an observation, is the new TE's coach has failed, thus far, to secure a TE commit in this class. That's just the truth. Negative would be pulling **** out of my ass like Checkerboards often does.
