Yeah, you are missing something here. If you want to say you're OK with us lacking integrity, that's another story. But it does lack integrity.

And no, it's still not legally allowed. But even if it was, it wasn't then, and that's what counts.

Jmo but we should separate morality from this.

The morality of paying folks anywhere close to their equitable value isn't immoral, quite the opposite.

That said, it is against the rules, where integrity comes in. But integrity and ethics are not exactly the same where unjust rules are in place. Integrity lies within an agreed upon system and set of parameters of "gentleman's rules". "We all agree we shouldn't pay players" - and then those same folks go and do so. Yet those rules, set by the powerful, can be extremely unjust at the same time. They can be immoral...even extremely immoral in some cases.


I agree with your last sentence - it's still against the rules right now ("within the agreement"). Now...was what Pruitt was doing the same as what MANY across the SEC were also doing? Yes. It doesn't mean Pruitt had integrity. It means no one did.

Then you could dive deeper into the ethics breakdown - Kantian v Utilitarian, for instance. Did the coaches do it because it was right to compensate individuals for their market value or just because they wanted a leg up on the competition?

One ESPN thingy is predicting us as favorites in 9 games next season. The swing games are BAMA, UGA, and OU. And honestly, I think we may wind up being favorites against OU.

Let’s hope they don’t figure out their web/oline situation. A season with losses to only bama and uga is a guaranteed playoff spot imo.
