Recruiting Football Talk VII

Cade is better than all of those and that is a big place where money went. It is both recruitment and retention.
I'm not going to argue that, but we still need a RG, WR and linebacker, a starting corner would be nice but isn't pressing. Sign instant impact guys there.

This is one of the worst times of year in the RF. The RF regulars complaining because we didn't get this recruit or that transfer is bad enough. However, the influx of every random thought about recruiting in the FF that becomes a thread gets merge over here and we have to wade through the slop for like 3 months until they get back to generally hating life in a less recruiting related manner. Come on February!
The same people who are DB coach experts and recruiting experts and play-calling gurus are also financial and NIL masters. Great multi-taskers. Mom needs hip replacement, I know who I'm gonna get to do it.

Coincidentally, 90% of the money I charge for my amateur hip replacement surgeries goes directly to the Volunteer Club. So keep that in mind when you’re making your choice.

Brazzel is good and still in the pipeline. Yeah Dumas would be a big get, but some team is going to overpay. Overpay for us was TE and we landed the #1. Knowledgeable guys are openly telling tou that places like Ole Miss are purposely overpaying. That is just not our strategy. Ok to dislike it, but I would try to at least acknowledge we are playing the game too.

Danny White is an aggressive fundraiser. The upside of that is an aggressive strategic plan that includes multiple funding buckets. The downside of that is aggressively tapping donors to fill those buckets. Donors are being asked to fund major facilities improvements for virtually every athletic facility. They're being asked to support academics. And endowments. And building funds. Staff salaries are up. Season ticket prices are up. And annual giving is up.

But eventually donor fatigue will set in. It is setting in, which is where fan initiatives come in. While NIL has donor support, it's basically a fan initiative. While many UT campaigns are top-down, NIL is bottom-up.
Those involved that have been tagged need to take @utvols83 up on the offer to market Spyre on social media. Ask some donors to give the $5-10k necessary to fund it. Or use that amount from Spyre to fund it. You have to spend money to make money. What are we waiting on?

I know this won't go over well, but honestly with the NIL money we are rumored to have, I'm a little disappointed in who we are getting. Yes, I don't agree with NIL but I would be more interested in giving some if we were actually getting quality prospects or instant impact players of need. A 3* from MTSU and a WR from Tulane don't exactly excited me. Sign Dumas Johnson, get the OL from TAMU, steal a starting corner from a good P5 school. Sign that 5* out of LA that we talked to last week, those are the kids that close the gap, and that's the talent that I'd be interested in giving for. Not random 3*
I don’t look at stars ever.

Look at offers.

MTSU safety, ND TE, and Tulane Wr are offered by a lot of big schools.

That tells you their talent level.

All big pickups

I'll check my calendar. You sure she doesn't mind a naked Yeti doing the procedure?

If you are disappointed were good.

Everyone who would join knows about it.
Very doubtful. And that’s not me being negative. But all the sites on Facebook and Instagram could push it immensely and it would reach way more.

I think it’s well tan and they take care of players. But it lacks in advertisement and getting to the masses. Once it does, our NIL will dominate.

I know that some are questioning the portal haul, but the staff is getting who they're going after. Ole Miss picked up transfers that UT wouldn't pay to keep, and they'll likely sign a few more that UT wouldn't pay to land. Kiffin is going all-in on next year.

we noticed

whether or not it works who knows but they will have one hell of a roster if they land Nolan. We are just hoping to grab what we can get.

Hey, I applaud them for taking their shot. They have a pretty manageable schedule, and making the first 12-team payoff would be something they could sell as a program going forward.

No pressure, Lane.

If you get Dumas. We legitimately have a top five front seven in the SEC and it’s not even a debate.

I get what you're saying, but the ultimate is question is will our staff's recruiting strategy ultimately lead to a championship? It needs to, and I really hope it does.

And I would still only take a couple they got. It’s overrated and our needs aren’t their needs.
