I’d add Tom Matte-Jim Taylor- Marv Hubbard-Norm Bulaich- Ed PodolakAlso for anyone who cares (not many I'm sure)
Rashard Mendenhall was a RB, played a total of 6 seasons in the NFL and went for 900 or more in 3 of them all with the Steelers. Finished his career with 4236 rushing yards, 37 TDs and a 3.9 ypc average
I find his claim that he's "better than YOUR GOAT" to be interesting... here's a few white RBs I'd take ahead of him.
Christian McCaffrey
Franco Harris
John Riggins
Jim Taylor
Larry Csonka
And he technically was a FB, but I'd take him over Mendenhall as well, Mike Alstott
OU lost their entire OL and QB. Decent chance mizzou can win 11 honestly. A&M Auburn are both struggling, though auburn seems to be headed in the right direction. Bama is the only highly likely loss on their schedule. Auburn will probably be a 50/50, they'll be favored in the other 10 if they're at the same level they were this year.So Missouri gets at Texas A&M, vs Auburn, at Alabama, vs Oklahoma
No clue what A&M with new HC will be and will be interesting to see how OU fairs with a new QB and their first year in the SEC.
If you take out the SECCG GA vs Bama is ridiculously rare. Also, once in the national championship game. Sanky set this up years ago.Random:
Since 1996, Bama and Georgia have only played 11 times. Of those 11 meetings, only 4 were played outside the state of Georgia: 3 Tuscaloosa, 1 Indianapolis.
From 1996-2011 (15 years), they played just 4 times.
From 1978-2023, Georgia has played in Tuscaloosa 5 total times. 45 years... 5 games in Tuscaloosa.
In contrast, the Vols have played in Tuscaloosa 13 times since 1998, because before then the game was played in Birmingham.
So, you can honestly look at a weak schedule like Mizzou or OM this year and say they deserve to play for the biggest title in their sport? Or even an Oregon team who lost to the same team twice, even as a large favorite on a neutral field?
I'm still looking for the logic in Bama, who already has a loss to another playoff team, making it in over an undefeated conference champion. Yet plenty on here defended that. So, you can honestly look at a weak schedule like Mizzou or OM this year and say they deserve to play for the biggest title in their sport? Or even an Oregon team who lost to the same team twice, even as a large favorite on a neutral field?
To be fair, with Joe on the way out, who is Nico competing against? Walk-ons and a true freshman that just got to campus three days ago. With quotes like this you can just tell Nico looked better than Joe all season. I mean it’s like not even a QB competition this offseason. Like the worst kept secret in the building
I probably sound like a Dobbs fanboy. . . but I dont think that coach is gonna work out up there much longer. He listens to the fans too much, the offensive calls are offensive, he cant seem to see the issue is his OL, and/or he thinks swapping QB's will magically fix the terrible OL. . . or maybe he's swapping them to buy more time to get into the off-season and try to rework the OL & get Cousins back. Either way, his moves make it seem like he's under a lot of pressure and he's in panic mode
They would've won the last game with Dobbs, imo.
