At the end of the day, the bowl games are for the players first, fans second. They players are rewarded with one more go, a week of fun activities with your guys, and some really sweet gifts. In many destinations it's fun for the fans too.

As far as wins and loses, it matters more if you win and means pretty much nothing if you lose at this point. When the playoff goes to 12 teams, the big bowls will return to true relevancy.

But, he also said every team NOT in the playoff needs/wants to recruit better. Swain said this class is good, not great.

So he said not a lot while saying a lot. Success. Plus he got free marketing from us.

Its not realistic to expect this staff to recruit on par with Georgia and Alabama. Both coaches have multiple recent national titles to point to.

Other than those two teams, the differences in TN's class and the other top classes are negligible. Going to have to win a championship on the field first to get into that top tier of recruiting.

This staff's level of recruiting is good enough for a 10-2 type season, which is sufficient to get TN into the 12 team playoff.

Kirby and Saban were dominant recruiters without the titles.

For all the fun we poke at the geek @ Mizzo ,they are making moves like a team that wants to get better. If we go through the portal season without kicking the tires of a 5 star LB or one of the two 5 star CB’s from GA then you have to wonder about how serious we are about getting better.

Best recruit avg in 20+ years and highest bluechip ratio since it's been tracked...they just don't care!! Pruitt would've openly cheated and end up with worse classes!!
