Man, you're smarter than that. Don't pull out a stat that's only a portion of the story to counter an argument. If you watched our games, you know they were not great at pass pro, certainly not championship caliber or even close.

For all Joe's faults he usually avoided taking sacks. But he didn't have the time top teams give their QBs. Not really even close.
Well, so was it Joe or was it the OL? I thought Joe played ok enough the first part of the year but then struggled in some games in the back half. But decisions by the QB affect the OL, too. Florida game was bad, but we didn’t have a full OL.

If we only give up 18 sacks next year with Nico, you will see great results.

Hey buddy… you having a rough morning?

It’s just funny how myself and others comment how the staff struggles to close and a lot of cheerleaders on here somehow take offense to that and go in with personal attacks.

Meanwhile, guys who literally cover recruiting and have for decades say the same thing. The staff is recruiting well, but needs to close better.

But keep lashing out at me, the big bad wolf, if it makes you feel better. 😉
You realize that "those guys who cover recruiting" are most interested in clicks and listeners, right? They echo what the disgruntled part of the fan base is saying. Most of their material comes from Volnation. They have to fill air time in a cycle when there is no news. They make their living off controversy. Who would care if they went with the line of "everything is great."
Bottom line is that the staff did a great job, but that doesn't generate clicks.

The retention to me is where people miss out in evaliating today's recruiting. We need a team composite score imo. So like snaps in league+avg star+time in system.

I don't have the numbers, but I bet money Mizzou scored high in areas one and three this year and that was a big part of their success. Losing studs and replacing them with one and done players is going to eventually catch up with teams imo. I also believe the vols are going to be off the charts in this metric next year with all those returning linemen and high ranking recruits. 2025 is the year that worries me.

Phil Steele releases a list of returning starters each year. Bill C. does returning production. (I also like how Phil Steele looks at close losses/wins as a swing measure for variance)

Action Network took these measures + experience of transfers and created TARP (Transferring Assets and Returning Production).

Guess who was dead last in TARP last year in the SEC? UT. And yet some still don't see it was a rebuilding year 😅

Mizzou was favorably in plus territory, 5th in the SEC.

#1 in TARP nationally? Washington...having a historic season for them

Thanks for sharing. Those missing classes killed us. Once those years are graduated out I expect we'll see a lot more consistency.

I mean that’s not really what they were saying. Did you actually watch the entire video? They were pretty complimentary about the class and staff in general

Your "facts" don't follow the pre-determined narrative that our coaching staff sucks donkey nuts. Take it elsewhere please.
