Koufax used to tip his pitches and they still couldn't hit it when they knew what was coming. In today's world of max, effort, free swinging hitters, and only pitching 5 innings, they would be even more dominant then they were in their era. Dimaggio, Mantle, and Ted Williams would kill it in today's world of grooved 100 mph fastballs.
we tend to romanticize older players….. i like them too….. Koufax is one of my all-time faves…. That still doesn’t change that guys are a different breed nowadays… There have been rule changes( lowering the mound as one example to even up things for hitters since Koufax and Gibson pitched…. MLB players/teams study and emulate/try to improve on the previous generation of players. They don’t pitch less innings to try and throw harder although that is a benefit of the approach. They pitch less inning bc they figured out that the third time though a lineup greatly reduced a pitchers effectiveness.. They also don’t groove fast balls…. a couple years ago…. Dustin May threw a 98 mph pitch that had 17 inches of break to it…. That’s insane. Teams average more runs per game including the 1968 season where teams now average more than a run per game more. They also average around 100 more homeruns per team per season now than in 1968.

Faster the ball is thrown, faster it tends to leave the yard. Simple physics.

Buy them a small gift and share the gospel of Jesus Christ with them. That’s all they really need
Heck, I'd be for that.

From a Pagan celebration around the solstice to being taken up by the Roman Christians to now an entire month devoted to materialism and commercialism...I'm 100% for taking it back a step and just leaving it religious or merely a familial gathering.

It's silly these days and I'm not here for it.

IF Hill plays, Dolphins win ....

Cowboys lost Division last week..
My bet is he is playing unless he regressed and struggles during warm ups. They’ve been optimistic the last few days and said they think he plays. Should know here in the next hour or so.

I don’t have a good feel for the game either way. I could see a close game or a blow out in either direction. Definitely a game I wouldn’t bet on.

He will become known for guaranteeing a Super Bowl victory next season, but this year Joe Namath becomes the first player to pass for more than 4,000 yards in a single season.

Namath completes 18-of-26 passes for 343 yards in the New York Jets' 42-31 victory over the Chargers in San Diego, boosting his season total to 4,007 yards. This exceeds the 3,747 put up by the Washington Redskins' Sonny Jurgensen.

Namath throws four touchdowns - 13, 36 and 37 yards to Don Maynard and 36 yards to George Sauer - as the Jets finish with their first winning season (8-5-1) in their eight-year existence.
