Same here.I am beyond excited to see Nico take over and play.
Made the bowl game a lot more meaningful for me.
No.I want to win this game. But I do think in this day and age with opt outs and pay off bowl games, other bowl games hold little weight for anyone outside the respective fanbases.Am I the only one that cares more about winning than just an exhibition of players? Yeah, excited to see them but really want to win.
yep, outscored 57-0 by PSU and Michigan. Also lost to a woeful Minnesota team 12-10.Iowa played two teams worth a damn this year and scored a combined zero points. Vols by 21. Nico goes ham (300+). A random WR's coming out party (my bet Nimrod--145 yards 2 td's). Seldon goes for 115 and 2. Sampson does his thing. We get reasonably excited for 2024. Can't wait.
This definitely means a 63 -52 game is incoming. They are still a good defense. FPI has efficiency numbers for offense, defense and special teams and it is opponent adjusted. Opponent adjusted doesn’t necessarily tell the whole story.. it just means they tried to compensate for it in the numbers the best they could. Either way, Iowa is still 5th in the nation for defensive efficiency. Their Offense is 121st in the nation and the worst out of P5 teams
As for how they play, if they were a keep away offense that was skewing their defensive numbers than you’d expect to see their TOP a little higher but they are in 101st in the nation in TOP. To be fair though, it’s hard to keep your TOP up too high when your offense is terrible. Either way, they aren’t playing keep away and instead of the defense playing less they are having to play more and yet they still have the efficiency metrics they do. So yeah, they are impressive.
Doesn't mean they will shut us down though. I’m still confident in being able to move the ball on them.
Iowa starting QB transfered to Utah State, Cade McNamara is injured and out...No.I want to win this game. But I do think in this day and age with opt outs and pay off bowl games, other bowl games hold little weight for anyone outside the respective fanbases.
Had anyone opted out out transferred from Iowa? Serious question.
we're definitely in more of an exhibition mode than Iowa just based on the difference in our roster.
