Sorry @Jackcrevol I just reread this and it sounds a lot meaner than I meant for it to...I sometimes forget I am not arguing with my stupid brothers, cousins and nephews.
I disagree. I think Ohio State is better than Alabama. Prove me wrong. The selection hit the nail. The best 4 teams are playing for the Championship. The ACC replaced the Big 12 as the Conference which needed to improve its talent to qualify for the final 4. Next year, they Have made room for a team from the ACC to make the top twelve.
The counter is definitely gonna be...this will NOT be anywhere even close to the team that would have been in the playoffs.Do you stand by this take if UGA boat races them on Saturday? I guess the counter-argument will then be how many of their players opted out/transferred? I'm not being smart, this is a genuine question.
I'll help you out then. They'd call completely different games because Tannehill can't do what Cam could do.I dont know enough about Ryan Tannehill, or Cam Newton now. I did watch Newton as a collegiate athlete, and at the time he was one of the most dominant college players ive ever seen.
I'd suggest that maybe Heupel actually did a great job calling the plays this year. . . considering he accounted for our strengths and weaknesses. If he just continued calling it like he did for Hooker, we may have been a complete disaster. Instead, we were solid enough for 8 wins with his worst offense ever.Also....you watched one USF game and came to this conclusion...your opinion would be much different if you had watched them in the games they really struggled..
I just will NEVER believe that Josh Heupel would give the keys to his beautiful Ferrari to a guy that could only crash it all the time.
The problem ain't the play calling period...and yes you can go look and post examples, and then I will go look and post examples of ineffective calls from last year when we had the f'n #1 offense.
The problem ain't the play caller...it's the play runners not being able to execute at as high a level.
You seriously don’t think they did everything possible to get them prepared? Sometimes you just have to go with what you have. Look at Saban’s defense the last few years. His offense at the beginning of this year. And he’s had top 5 classes stacked plus the best transfers.Which is the responsibility of whom?
It aint mine, it aint yours. Its on Halzle and Heup to get these guys prepared. And they didnt execute.
Agree. They had a FG, the margin of loss, hit the upright. The week before AL won on a 1/100 essentially final play. They both are very talented and the margin was razor thin. Hope we one day have that type of roster.Hate saying it, but I think UGA was the best team this year. Just a bad day vs Bama. Still, I'm thrilled and relieved I don't have to listen to 3-peat through this entire off season. Now if, by some miracle, FSU can upset UGA, that would be an excellent cap to the season for me.
I felt that way until it became abundantly clear to me that the SEC directs its scumbag officials to screw us over...they want to keep us down because they can't have us upsetting their few chosen teams postseason plans by beating them.I’m so conflicted! I hate the other teams in the SEC but love the SEC. Mostly because when I started watching the media loved the Big 10, Notre Dame, USC and Texas so much. Those teams had it so easy.
I think the conversation was about who's responsibility it was to prepare them, Oda. Not that they didnt try.You seriously don’t think they did everything possible to get them prepared? Sometimes you just have to go with what you have. Look at Saban’s defense the last few years. His offense at the beginning of this year. And he’s had top 5 classes stacked plus the best transfers.
The difference in that game was the QB play and Alabama had the best QB in that game that day.Hate saying it, but I think UGA was the best team this year. Just a bad day vs Bama. Still, I'm thrilled and relieved I don't have to listen to 3-peat through this entire off season. Now if, by some miracle, FSU can upset UGA, that would be an excellent cap to the season for me.
I remember the days when we were so stacked at RB that we had the luxury of letting upperclassmen play because they knew what they were doing, and the freshman had time to learn. Remains to be seen if that is the case now.The reason they were backups was because they weren't better than Wright. That being the case, one would logically expect there to be some level of drop off now that Wright is gone. Just my stupid, dumb take of course.
That's exactly what a lot of us wished for in our bad years. . . a team that would at least try and not just roll over. . . just do everything you can to be the best you can be and, if its not enough, at least we know they gave it all they had.Im also going to say this AGAIN...it's not Joe's "fault"...he tried his best, he just cannot read-react quickly, correctly and accurately consistently enough to male this thing go...and yes the drops were bad, and pass blocking was not as good...those guys tried hard too.
Marcus Allen is one of my all time favorites, for obvious reasons. I remember hearing about him being drafted by my Raiders and I was ecstatic.Loved it, I despise the Commanders with a passion....
Giants, Commanders,Eagles despised equally in my book...
Add the 49ers also...damn Joe Montana to Dwight Clark ..![]()
