Recruiting Football Talk VII

I have never claimed to be the authority on "all things" football. That's an ad hominem, and it's a retreat from legitimate debate. I don't have to be an authority on all things to make legitimate points. You don't seem interested in debating those points. Just pouting that I post with confidence.

And one doesn't have to be an authority on all things to see:

1--The state of the program when Heupel took over, and the timeline this fanbase was giving to even becoming competitive.

2--The ignorance of trying to hold Heupel responsible for not completely turning the talent over in two recruiting seasons with a NCAA investigation hanging over the program.

3--The fact that the SEC is "big boy" conference actually works AGAINST your argument--i.e. it's HARDER to become competitive against the "big boys".

You have every right to question Heupel. You have every right to have dumb opinions. If you don't want to read arguments why the opinion is dumb, you may not want to post them.

Football players dance about anything...

Quarterback sack dance for 2 minutes, score a touchdown dance for 2 minutes...

Now you know why NCAA went to a running clock, always 15 to 20 minutes worth of dancing every game...

Pretty much no one is saying that
I added a little hyperbole. But posting Joe season total and rationalizing it by his all time season totals. But no need to keep discussing Joe, he’s gone. Was a good Vol, but will likely be Huep’s worse QB here and really in his coaching history. He put up big league numbers with 2 star freshmen at UCF.

My greatest fear is Kirby exceeds Saban. No words.
He is the first coach to properly take advantage of the instate talent in areas they are in fact the closest bigtime school. They do have areas that are too far or closer to schools like Auburn and FSU that are not inherently an advantage like Memphis is to us. But Atlanta area alone is a huge honey hole. GT is like Vandy is to us in the Nashville area, not a HUGE factor. Columba Ga and AUBURN share TV stations.

Because the WHO said it's a carcinogen.
The WHO says all red meat is potentially carcinogenic. That includes beef, sheep, deer/elk, squirrels, bears, etc. That isn’t really a reason to single out pork.

Also, the WHO is trash and the evidence supporting red meat being carcinogenic and bad for you in general is very low quality and it is irresponsible to include it in broadly disseminated government supported health guidelines.

I agree. I'd never dismiss what they say out of hand, but I also wouldn't assume they're always seeking to tell the truth as exactly as possible either.
The trick is to research for oneself and not just trust faceless "authorities" o of assumptions that they are acting in your best interest. Special interest moneys are a powerful drug.

It's generally more profitable to address an argument based on facts than mere references to who's made it.

What's the name of the chemical?

And what is the time span for growth of a chicken without your chemical?
rhodimet 88 and we just haul it and added to feed at these farms. the time frame matches normal times and want them at 5 to 7 lbs to market but with this product the weight is double digits and more profit they say. It is also shipped via iso containers overseas for their poultry/cattle etc.

I have said it once and I will say it again. The people that don’t think these players don’t care about these bowl games are misguided. I have been watching the last 2 days and most every game teams are fighting hard and with purpose. You can see it on their face and in the interviews. The Arizona kid last night you could tell he was overjoyed and greatful. Today’s game with Kentucky and Clemson you are seeing the effort. I think more often than not we take what a few may be doing and lumping everyone together. I have seen some idiot remarks on social media about Joe deserting his team. There is no doubt if we were on the playoffs Joe would play, this move was a win win for Joe and Nico. That kind of talk is absurd, Joe is the ultimate teammate. But even if it’s not a playoff game these bowls are still important, especially for teams like Tennessee that have young talent that is ready to play. It gives them a taste of a bowl game in their first game and helps them prepare for spring and fall. Yeah there are some that is saying it’s a exhibition game, but competitors want to win and compete. I think in some ways it makes guys play harder. But one thing is for sure these guys are giving maximum effort. GBO

Sounds like Butch Jones speak. Why say anything about people loving to play here?View attachment 605631

He’s right, scheme won’t be changed much
scheme may not change much but the short/intermediate options along with escapability should/could improve a bunch. How much will depend on his preparedness and I will keep my hopes marginal but this has a chance to be a significant difference. We shall see. Either way good or bad I will not cast a full judgement but the ceiling could be real high.

I'm torn on who I want to lose. I feel like Dabo is well into his decline now that he's dying on the ANTI-NIL mountain, so I'd rather Stoops lose. But I just can't cheer for Dabo, and UK humiliates themselves every year already. Tough one.
I can never root for KY. Their fans are in my top 5 despised fan bases list. I always want their tears.

But Joe is a all time great they say…
No...they either say the coach forgot how to call plays over the course of one offseason...or...that the coach turned the keys to his Ferrari over to a teenager that just took his learners permit..

I may be wrong...but...I will never believe either of those two things happened.

The rational truth can not be accepted by those that just cannot..or refuse...to understand that the coach's Ferrari is still in the shop getting a new motor, and few other replacement parts and he was given a base package Charger as a loaner for the year.

The kids who are playing do care. The criticism is that the large number of good players who opt out don't care.

Smart money is White. Of course, Iowa knows this, too. I've just got a feeling this staff will try to protect Nico. I don't think they'll have the faith in Nimrod and Webb to open things up. I think we'll see a similar offense to what Milton had at his disposal. Likely see more TE and maybe a few more RB in the passing game. Something tells me we'll rely heavily on our running game....for better or worse. Long winded way of saying that I think we'll play a style of offense that plays into what Iowa wants and it will be a close, nail biter of a contest. I'd love to think the staff would sit down with Nico and tell him that they're going to run the full offense and that he doesn't need to sweat the mistakes. Just learn and play loose and free. Have a hard time seeing this happen tho.
I agree smart money on White. And like you said Iowa knows this. That’s why I say Keyton and Warren will play big. I think both of them guys want to go out strong. GBO!

To heck with the WHO, they are full of it corrupt crooks.

Better analogy here is proper break in of a new motor requires reduced rpm's. So for the sake of the long term health of the motor he raced the Corvette rental with high mileage. Wise choice and I agree with your point.
