Meh. I don't think going to the playoff does a thing to increase his value. If an extra game increased value you wouldn't see the obvious early round picks opting out of non-playoff bowl games.

Seems to me it's pretty simple and something that could be seen coming a mile away. Not 1 guy they have brought in is coming for free and now one of your best players has caught wind of how much some have been paid and feels underappreciated.

Huge portal hauls will be locker room destroyers!

Not related, but I think Joe Milton opted out of our bowl game not because of his best interest but in Nico’s best interest.
I think Joe Milton has definitely become a VFL.
I think Heupel’s criteria for a QB is a team player…not a me, me, me guy. Those types may win you some games, but they are not good for your team health.
JMO 😎

The Dolphins and the Cowboys are mirror images of each other....both of their records are inflated by beating horrible teams....then when they play teams with records over .500 they fold most of the time.
Dak is playing at a very high level right now. I don't know about Tua. But Dak is playing better than he has in the past.

We are a completely different team than the 9-4 team last year…

I think we are as well but we will see. Winning in Norman and Athens are already two tall hurdles that we will be hard-pressed to achieve. Keep in mind we have a very tough schedule. It is both a blessing and a curse. Reminds me of 2022 when we finally overcame Alabama. Most teams would be able to beat Florida, Pitt, LSU, and Alabama and then coast to playoff but our schedule still had Georgia as well on it and in our way.

Georgia is the main hurdle we haven't overcome, and to be frank, it is very understandable as Georgia has had the BEST team in the nation the last 3 years (yes I still think they were the best team this year).

Agree, Joe doesn't deserve the hate. He wasn't Hendon Hooker and took flak for that. He was a serviceable QB and he gave it his all.

I agree with you. I am not the person that is on here saying that it isn't a bad thing that we missed these targets, I just don't think the sky is falling.

As I pointed out, little things like this is what keeps us at that 8-4 level and not getting to the next level where we can compete regularly with Alabama.
Far from falling. There's simply no way to look at our trajectory and see anything but positivity. Just a sense of urgency on my part to maximize the Nico years. I've already gone on record as saying next year will be another 7-8 win season. After seeing Nico play, I'm starting to think, with the right guys around him, we could get to 9 regular season wins....barring injury.

Meh. Standard AP and Hubbs during portal/signing season.

AP and Hubbs during spring/fall camp: “New guys are huge. Really look the part. Move well. XXX appears to be pushing for starting snaps. Will be a factor.”

So it goes.
They know a little bit about something but not enough about anything.

Basilio saying that big money boosters are on Heupel's ass regarding Elarbee and that there is real pressure to replace him.
I mean if you’re giving massive amounts of cash to the program just to watch ol Glen miss on every OL then yeh the pressure is gonna mount. Guy hasn’t recruited one HS player in his tenure here that even contributes. He’s starting yr 4.

Interesting. I haven't heard much about our offensive line coach. I could see that argument. It is hard to judge because despite all the issues, the o-line has looked a lot better under Heupel than it did under the last 3 coaches.

Ugh. As if the boosters know more about football than Josh Fricking Heupel. Maybe we fire don't fire our OL coach the year after running the ball for 200+ per game and bringing in 3 4* OL...

For the record, not saying that Elarbee is above reproach, and I'm also waiting/wanting to see him be successful with his own recruits, but so far the success has been there.

Yeah, we are on the same page. Agree with your entire post.

Even the Florida posts that I am making follow this logic. Losing to Florida in 2023 won't sink our program but main was it a major step back in my opinion and it was definitely something we should have done this past season. Then again, I had that game circle as the one objective for the year as a fan that I was hoping Tennessee would achieve. I knew we weren't going to beat Alabama or Georgia so I was thinking Florida would be the must win.

He is what he's always been. At least the "pay me" guys are transparent. The "pay me and play me where I want how much I want" guys always find a reason to be malcontents.

I’m betting that the coaching staff learned a valuable lesson with Mincey. A mistake that they won’t make again.

They should have known better than to take a gator to begin with…😈

Mississippi State Tackle Percy Lewis planning to visit TN this weekend!

Auburn hosted Mississippi State offensive tackle transfer Percy Lewis on an official visit and the Tigers are now a finalist for him.

He also visited Arkansas earlier in the week and following his visit to the Plains, he will no longer be visiting Ole Miss.

“I just took two visits — I ain’t going to take no more,” Lewis told Auburn Undercover’s Nathan King. “It’s time to narrow it down because it’s getting about that time again. So I ain’t going to keep going on these visits. I’m just going to narrow it down. Get home tonight, do a little thinking by myself and just make my move in the morning.”

Did he have a change of heart?
