Weren't quite sure because of his size?McMurray checked all the boxes but when he got to campus last weekend, the coaches tapped the brakes because they weren't quite sure. It was probably refreshing to find someone who's ready to commit and doesn't ask for the moon, then the stars, then when the sun comes up, they want that, too.
IYO, is Heard a Vol? See he still hasn't committed yet.McMurray checked all the boxes but when he got to campus last weekend, the coaches tapped the brakes because they weren't quite sure. Also, does taking McMurray mean we're out on Aydan White?McMurray checked all the boxes but when he got to campus last weekend, the coaches tapped the brakes because they weren't quite sure. That wasn't my point. I was looking at a team that had superb defensive talent that had no problem with our hurry up schemes. Drawing a bit of a parallel to how it might go for his offense were it in the NFL. Just don't think NFL teams who all have pretty danged good DBs will be as susceptible to the pace or confusion that goes with the Heupel scheme. In college, it's fine...most of the time. Still think teams that have the corners to man up on our WRs will be a tough ask of our offense. But it will let us do more with less and that's a good thing since we don't recruit at the UGA/bama levels. Not saying I'm disappointed or unhappy with it at all. I think for us, UT, it's a great scheme.Which scheme would be able to put up video game numbers on the 2022 UGA defense in a deafening Sanford Stadium? Inquiring minds want to know.
Heupel’s scheme is fine. I don’t even know what “gimmicky” means. This isn’t the 80s anymore. The name of the game is get the ball to a guy in space, period. The NFL continues to hire young, innovative offensive head coaches. It’s not gimmicky to run up-tempo, short-game, sideline-to-sideline. It’s modern football.
no risk at all…. get paid millions to prove yourself on the biggest stage… if you fail…. land at a college job of your choice.Won't happen. Smart saw what the NFL did to Saban. Even with all the changes to college football, the NFL is a completely different beast. I don't see Kirby wanting to take that risk.
