Recruiting Football Talk VII

Just got home and my sons wife lost her baby Josie at 31 weeks. We are at a loss for words. His wife did not think she would be able to get pregnant or she was told as she continues a thyroid cancer battle and everything was going really well. A little VN prayer or a thought today for that little girl and the family if a moment.
Sorry to hear this. A friend had a similar tragedy and 14 months later, his wife was well enough to have their now 6 year old..

For all the husbands and dads sorting out where to put last year's special cup collection now that the new ones arrived for Christmas.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one... Literally had this conversation with my youngest daughter yesterday when she came home with a Stanley.... We have an entire cabinet for all these stupid cups and bottles 😂

The coaching staff is not absolved from any criticism just because of the circumstances they came into. They are getting paid handsomely. We've seen a recurring issue with recruiting high level players and our staff's inability to close. There is not a single HS recruit that has played in 4 years on the OL from Ellarbee. That's concerning. Plenty of other staffs would love to have our NIL program.

We have glaring holes on the OL and targeted our top 3 guys, only to whiff on all 3 when reportedly NIL is not an issue here. That's a red flag. Part of Fulmer's downfall was staying with ineffective coaches. Having some staff turnover is a good thing when expectations are not being met.

If you know how to look at profiles and see post histories, the bread crumbs are the size of bread trucks. I made one personal prediction based on observations the last few hours/days that I think were close to home, and the damn started spilling over immediately after. I wouldn't say I like to spell the connections out because that takes away half the fun of forums, in my opinion, but there is some good stuff to mine if one were to choose. Page 64-66 on the player thread.
Thanks!

The only thing im getting from your mentioned posts is that you think either KingVFL or KingNico is AP.

For those that need it.

January 10, 2024: Be still and know that I am God. Great and precious promises are yours if you will only dare to believe. The spiritual principles are simple, but applying them to life situations can be complex. Keep your vision clear and your motives pure as you focus on Me, says the Lord. The flesh always wants to muddy the spiritual water. Psalm 16:8 I have set the Lord always before me; because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved.

I like AP most of the time, but his mumbling on the podcast is really hard to listen to sometimes.
Well, he doesn't eat, blow his nose, snort and burp into the mic like a certain breakfast food on a certain podcast that is otherwise great due to having a VFL former O Lineman.

But I won't name names...

That's the closest thing to a compliment Vanderbilt football may ever get.

It isn't even illegal to steal signs. We have dudes running around with curtains for a reason.

I don't think it's common to have a dude running a full operation of buying tickets and stealing signs from the stands for dozens of games. It's comical how absurd that is.

I'm sure teams have tried to steal signs during the course of a game. I'm sure teams have tried to infer signs from what they have learned from previous games against that team. I don't believe teams are doing what Michigan did. I just don't believe that. Maybe Bama is. "Everyone is doing it" is the first words out of the mouth of a cheater.

I sure hope we aren't guaranteeing starts/playing time. Horrible for team culture and chemistry.
This doesn't seem like the kind of staff that does that. When you read/hear interviews with the players, they consistently speak about being told the truth, everyone has the same chance, and you have to earn your spot with nothing guaranteed.

They broke 2 rules. You can't pre-scout opponents in person during the year and you can't use electronic devices to steal signals. You can try to steal signs by watching them during the game you're playing but that's it.

The fact that they cheated the first half of the season, got caught, and then went on to win the national title is obscene to me. One of the biggest letdowns I've had in college football in a long time.

For once, the NCAA had a chance to punish the team that actually benefitted from the cheating and did practically nothing. I guess they're only good at punishing kids for things other people did 3 or 4 years ago or vacating wins a decade later.

Prime opportunity to move up to the top-3 this week, but it's wild how important HCA is in CBB.

But get past Miss St and UGA and we'll be inching our way to a top ranking once again under Barnes.

This is a week I've kinda been nervous about. I'd take a split here and be quite happy. On the road in this league is tough but Stegeman is a stinkin' shop of horrors. Might be a bit dramatic, but I've go so many bad memories of that place. Dread going there every time. Miss St would be a great time for Knecht to break out of is slump.

That brought tears to my eyes too !
With all the nutrition and technology players will never again look like the beast of back in the day . Those guys were grown ass men . I show my son and his friends videos of old teams from across different years and teams in the NCAA and they don't understand how they looked like they did . Would love to see a coach build his team with old school methods and see how they play with this generations football .
