Even if they can find a guy who can go 10-2 or 9-3 most years, (a) that is a huge step down from what that fanbase is used to, and (b) they lose the mystique they have had and just become one of the top handful of teams in the SEC (which is still a strong brand, etc., but not the inevitable powerhouse they have been).

Reports that in an exclusive interview with ESPN's Rece Davis, Greg Sankey has admitted that Birmingham deliberately rigged officiating against Tennessee all year, beginning with the second game.
