We are literally fighting for our lives now; that's not hyperbole. If they win, and are allowed to hit us with a LOIC...while I don't believe they'll death penalty anyone else ever again, the sanctions that will be levied against us will cripple us for a decade or longer. Loss of more scholarships, bowl bans, and ineligibility from playoff. No one will want to play for us. We will be screwed.

As you said, it is us or them.
Nah. If they try to level anything, we just say eff off. They're toothless now. How are they gonna enforce it? They can't. The only power they have is the power we give them. The only reason we accepted the previous punishment is we knew rules were broken and it got us out of Pruitt's contract scott free.

Have you ever wondered what would happen if somebody ever just said: “no”?

The schools would have to get a collective bargaining agreement..there is NO way to have or enforce any rules with out one.

The issue then becomes...the players have to unionize so a CBA can be hashed out.

You wanted it to be professional..well this is what being a professional is...you have to give something to get something.
OK. So what's the problem?

I have wondered that before, what it would look like...saying, no. What do y'all think? Can they actually prohibit us from giving max amount of scholarships? I guess it's a serious question. If the NCAA said, "you're only allowed 70, 75 scholarships", and a university said, "Yeah, I don't think so...we're giving 85"...what happens?

I guess we COULD tell them to "eff off". Then what? Go play in the bowl they've banned us from? Can we truly do that? I know the CFP is it's own separate thing, so we may could get away with it there, idk. To Weezer's post...OK, we gave in on Pruitt because we really did break the rules; but...if the NCAA is really that powerless, why didn't we just tell them to eff off there...why doesn't everyone...breaking rules or not?
