SIAP but this is just flat out ridiculous. So, the NCAA didn’t actually find anything NEW that we did wrong when they claimed on Monday they had multiple violations against multiple programs they were planning to hit us with?’
They’re just trying to re-try infractions cases that were ALREADY CLOSED!!!! Incredible. Any shred of illusion that the NCAA doesn’t hate us is completely broken. This is an actual witch hunt. Double jeopardy?? Hello???

Imagine if this truly happened.

The new league, represented by ~30 teams...led by Bama, uga, osu...how quickly would they carry over the charges? Or create new charges against us?

It seems the only end to all of these dumb penalties is to stop making any and all payments illegal. And since players will have contracts, "tampering" won't be an issue.

Pro leagues don't have these constant cheating battles (based on payments, tampering, etc) because there is no need for them. That is, once again, the end game.

Taking the AA from 300+ schools down to 30 of your closest rivals will only intensify current issues, supposed rigging, etc. Have to take the root causes out of the system.

The major individual universities will not only continue within the system, but grow ten-fold in power once it is concentrated.

That's ridiculous. I'd say the very reason they're doing this is because they're seeing UT charged for doing EXACTLY what they are doing.

Let's all repeat this together... If they withdraw, it's not a conspiracy to hold UT down. It's because the NCAA **** the bed and aren't looking to the conferences' best interest, so they're stepping up to fill that void.

I said the other day the unspoken truth was that that the SEC and probably the B1G was behind us and what happened today? I don't know how much bigger the p5 needs to make the billboard for the NCAA to get the message on this.

Chip Kelly was right 60+ D1 teams in one conference 60+ D2 teams in another conference football only. The other sports stay in SEC, ACC…..etc. playing regional games instead of hopscotching across the country.
Sell the football games as a single package split the money evenly. Each division has its own championship game.

Sounds like communism.

The NCAA can back off…and live to fight another day, but I wouldn’t bet on it. New NCAA dude has been Napoleon on NIL from day one of his tenure…and he wants his Waterloo.

Napolean didn't start wars, and he did more to help the common people than any other ruler or nation in the World at that time...and people should always remember that history is written by the victors.

He is one of the most interesting persons in all of history.

Because Pruitt did not accomplish what he was sent to Tennessee to do… Completely destroy our program. Saban has decided to go higher up the chain to try to get it done. What I don’t understand is why does he care now?

Many want this. It just isn't reality anymore...in fact it hasn't been for decades. These coaches of an apparently amateur sport have been making 6-7 figures for decades...

Maybe Mcgill still wants the players to parade around as amateurs and not be paid. But he's accepted reality and is moving forward with what is.

I'm not naïve on this. No, we won't be going back to when players aren't being paid (and I don't want to go back to that). But, we do need rules/guidelines. I'm hoping something can be worked out to keep things competitive where many schools have a chance to compete and it's not just coming down to the highest bidder. Maybe salary caps? Revenue Sharing? I don't know. Yea, that sounds like 'pro sports'.
