SIAP but this is just flat out ridiculous. So, the NCAA didn’t actually find anything NEW that we did wrong when they claimed on Monday they had multiple violations against multiple programs they were planning to hit us with?’
They’re just trying to re-try infractions cases that were ALREADY CLOSED!!!! Incredible. Any shred of illusion that the NCAA doesn’t hate us is completely broken. This is an actual witch hunt. Double jeopardy?? Hello???

How is that guy a writer? Holy smokes, it was like reading an op-ed piece from a 3rd grader.

All opinion, very little fact.

Can't have caps or revenue sharing or pretty much any enforceable rules dealing with compensation without a CBA.
To maintain the auspice of amateurism they can definitely set aside a portion of revenues to provide everyone on the roster a minimum and allow them to add individual NIL with no meddling. No way they demand a union to potentially cut off their new money flow. The unions in the NFL, MLB and NBA were borne out of necessity. Owners got almost all the gross revenue in the fledgling TV and brand marketing industries as well as ticket sales and the players got relative pittances and were restricted from departing for other opportunities with no free agency. Players had to get second jobs to make ends meet...that's how Roger Staubach became a billionaire in real estate...he had to find a second stream of income. Nowhere near the same situation. If everybody gets the basic minimum (which some programs are already implementing), who's risking their NIL payday for a work stoppage? Mebbe they'll institute student athlete reps to negotiate said minimums and haggle. Lot of options in an adult, free market world.

I wonder if the ACC, PAC12 and B12 join in as well?

I think the ACC might but who knows what the PAC12 and B12 will do. Those two conferences are fighting just to stay above water. The ACC is better off but they know that they have to be far more careful than either the SEC or the B1G. I kinda think the ACC will jump in late. Virginia has more than one ACC team and the state is on board.

Basilio is holding all calls. He said he has some detail to share about what’s coming next. STAY TUNED.
If that detail is part of an unfolding of events by our side that has not been made public intentionally, then Basilio should not speak about it. If it is something our side wants announced that is different.

How do you know he signed after and it does? Have you read any of the stuff about this situation at all? Spyre said basically what I mentioned. He was signed for his potential as an NFL QB, not as an inducement to come to UT. Easy to infer the signing was before he committed here.
LOL if you believe everything every lawyer says is the actual truth, I have a bridge to sell you.

The point is, you and I don't know what the actual facts are. But I think any reasonable person would admit there's a zero % chance Spyre would pay Nico 8 million if he went to Bama. And there's nothing wrong with that. Spyre can't make back their marketing value outside of Tennessee. As it is for all the collectives.

Rules, for other forms of cheating, sure. But not around paying players though.

Pros don't have all these ticky tack situations all the time because of it. You simply make contracts and pay according to them. It's almost too simple...too common sense.

Salary caps, sure. First we need salaries. Caps on NIL? NEVER. That is not legal and never will be.

This system is so messed up and yet the universities bury their heads to avoid giving up power. It's literally pathetic to watch. And here comes some "new NCAA aka SECB1GAA" to avoid it for longer, I guarantee.

Any veil the universities can use to hide behind, they will.
So...are you OK with 2-4 schools hoarding 75% of the highest ranked talent...simply because they have more money?

THAT is and always has been the root of my hatred...I want a level playing field with the people we play against....period.

Did you read my post at all?

Salary - caps can be done

NIL - CANNOT be limited - per SCOTUS.

Which part do you disagree with? SCOTUS or having salary caps?

That's not true. We know the facts that the NCAA made several rules and policy changes after the fact and is seeking to enforce them in a situation in which they have no standing. We know you go to enormous lengths to make excuses for our rivals skirting NCAA rules and for the NCAA, yet appear to relish antagonizing in this case without even understanding the time sequence or not caring to countenance it. We further know you've not applied the implications of your "point" to every other team. You've become an unhinged extremist hiding in a moderate's clothing. You are not "even handed," as you like to think of yourself.
