Heupel did really well winning 8 games with Joe

Wowzers he’s looked bad this game

I thought he might sneak up draft boards - now I wonder if he will get drafted at all

(I like Joe Milton as a representative of UT but he is frustrating to watch play. His arm strength and size are fools gold. Someone in the NFL will take a chance on him, but if Heupel couldn't "fix" him, I'm not sure anyone in the NFL can.)

NIL == sponsorship == marketing agents and opportunities. It will always be an issue, and it will always come down to market.

The reason it's a moot point in the NFL is that every team in the NFL has the same face time on TV, b/c the NFL (association) owns all the TV rights and there is a small number of teams to fill the slots. i.e. No matter which team you're on, you have the same national market opportunities for exposure., no matter how small your home market may be for exposure.

In NCAA, the SEC owns their own TV rights (which are STRONG!). The BIG own theirs. The ACC own theirs. I think Notre Dame has its own. Then the NCAA has a back list of lesser teams that it rotates into its TV rights/slots.

NDSU, GA Southern and Jackson St will NOT have the same national exposure as, say... a UT, Bama, UGA, Ohios St, MIchigan or Notre Dame. Thus, sponsorship deals for smaller schools will not be as plentiful nor as lucrative.

So, how will this bake out when you have collective bargaining and salary caps? Exactly what you see today... The better athletes will go to the bigger/richer/more visible conferences/schools, with bigger, richer/more talented teammates, to get richer in college, on their way to the NFL.
Well ofc there will be a diffetence between P5 and D2...lol. Don't think that's the discussion. Not even talking D2 schools having salaries.

Actually, I'm not even sure what this discussion currently is lol.

At the end of the day you can't regulate how much one can earn from NIL.

But there will always be some players going to the NY or LA pro markets for greater exposure. And similar will happen in CFB. Local markets like Austin or Knoxville metro regions will trump smaller ones like Gainesville or Athens...once it's more about actual marketing and top guys' salaries are 6+ figures. Assuming these are real market salaries, otherwise more of the same.

It’s scary how many ppl on this board do not understand football…

Unfair to grade a QB on a game where there was only 1 week worth of practice all of the QBs didn’t look good. Milton isn’t good but this is not the performance to grade him on imo

I can’t teach football experience on a message board lol but some of the takes on the senior bowl i have seen where they have had 1 week of practice isn’t it…
Joe Milton looked the same today as he has for most of his collegiate career. He's got a big arm and he runs hard but he holds the ball too long in the pocket and stares down receivers.

Some of the mistakes made has nothing to do with practice time. . . like throwing across your body to the end zone when you have an easy run for 5+ yds, or overthrowing into triple coverage regardless of what the WR was doing.

If this was the real Joe Milton style of play, then Heupel miracle'd us into 8 wins with him at QB.

I agree like I said “Joe Milton isn’t good” but the senior bowl shouldn’t be the determining factor for that thought…

Nothing changed my mind about Joe today. I had high hopes at the beginning of this season but it was the same Joe Milton. Fools gold for QB coaches.

He doesn't have the instincts to play QB. He's potentially a great TE prospect.

Joe averaged 7.9 YPA, 1.7 TDs/game and only .4 INTs/game this season.

Today he averaged 6.1 YPA, had no TDs, and 2 picks.

No way you can say he played the same as all season. If he had those stats all season, we don't make a bowl game. Instead we went 9-4 for the 2nd best season since Fulmer left...

Hype has truly set the bar much higher than anytime since the early 2000s. That's a good thing.
