Idk if you're joking, but he would probably be a good TE if he didnt mind contact.
Can't disagree. My biggest concern since day 1, similar to Harrison Bailey. If he becomes a journeyman backup, he'll have done very well for himself. Making millions as a 2nd/3rd stringer and occassional hail mary guy...ain't a bad life...Joe Milton is a great VFL but ability to read defenses are way too slow for NFL..
I have tried to tell everybody that Heupel squeezed everything he could out of Joe this year. They had to call plays to work around his limitations while maximizing overall offensive production...they did an amazing job and get criticized for it.Joe averaged 7.9 YPA, 1.7 TDs/game and only .4 INTs/game this season.
Today he averaged 6.1 YPA, had no TDs, and 2 picks.
No way you can say he played the same as all season. If he had those stats all season, we don't make a bowl game. Instead we went 9-4 for the 2nd best season since Fulmer left...
Hype has truly set the bar much higher than anytime since the early 2000s. That's a good thing.
I wanted Joe to ball out today. I had posted before the season that Milton was going to get us to the SEC Championship, so I had a lot of hope/faith in him after his Orange Bowl performance. He had some really solid games this year and the receivers just didn't catch the ball. He also had some "what are you doing?!?" type moments too. He didn't process like a SEC QB should and the NFL is played even faster. I see someone taking a chance because of his arm strength but I don't see him ever starting at the next level.Joe will be a backup in the NFL. He was bad today, but he can out together enough good play to have value as a back up.
I'm sure several of our fans are reveling in his failure today though![]()
GA Southern isn't D2. They are G5--Sunbelt. Haven't been D2 in years.Well ofc there will be a diffetence between P5 and D2...lol. Don't think that's the discussion. Not even talking D2 schools having salaries.
Actually, I'm not even sure what this discussion currently is lol.
At the end of the day you can't regulate how much one can earn from NIL.
But there will always be some players going to the NY or LA pro markets for greater exposure. And similar will happen in CFB. Local markets like Austin or Knoxville metro regions will trump smaller ones like Gainesville or Athens...once it's more about actual marketing and top guys' salaries are 6+ figures. Assuming these are real market salaries, otherwise more of the same.
Yes I'm just talking P5. I don't presume any other levels will swing salaries.GA Southern isn't D2. They are G5--Sunbelt. Haven't been D2 in years.
And that kind of proves my point. Few people keep up with them, see them, or know anything about them. Who will have the most NIL market potential? UT or GA Southern?
So, if we see a salary cap, it basically sets everyone to relative zero on pay-for-play (just like now). What will break that tie? NIL. Just like today.
We don't have to debating more. It'll be interesting to watch it play out.

That's wild we were whipping Bama in their own dump.Couldn't in college either.
Yet, Heupel almost stole the game in T-Town and if the OL was healthy at Swamp, could have had another 11-win season.
As time passes, our appreciation and admiration of Heupel's coaching this past season will increase.
I am about a inch from saying screw it all...nobody gives a crap about fans...period. None of these bastards on any side would getSo, honest question... Would that work?
Since the SCOTUS (and many state laws) say that you can't artificially limit a player's NIL capabilities, you can't cap their marketing income. So... You're right back where we are now. Everybody gets the same salary (whether $0/yr or $100,000/yr), but richer, more productive markets will draw the better athletes based on NIL potential.
I don't know. Maybe you could get a player's association to bargain that right away. But especially with the SEC/BIG announcement yesterday, it seems much more likely that the richer/stronger conferences will say what seems plain... "We're not going to be dragged down to try to keep a competitive balance with the lower half of the league that will never compete with us anyway. We're going over there to do this our way."
