Fun fact: Wake Forest was a -2.5 point favorite against Duke.

When it was happening once every blue moon I think it was possible to ignore it. The way it is now, they will have to put a stop to it. You simply can't have this keep happening routinely. Security should be a baseline expectation for any team showing up to play an away game.
I don't know much about the level of rivalry between WF and Duke. Was storming the court warranted? I don't know. I know WF is struggling to make the NCAA tourney and this win could push them in over some other teams.

Court storming is part of basketball in college and individuals are giving the Duke player a rough time about the incident.

Look all for STUDENTS celebrating a big win but I can see the issue. What if that would have been Knecht or Aidoo that got run over by another teams fan and got hurt.

I would be just as pissed off as the Duke fan base is.

So, I worked from home Friday because contractors were going to be doing some demo in one of my employer's bathrooms and it was going to be loud. Real, real, loud. Welp, those dudes did not make it on Friday and they are there today, jackhammering away. FML. And, they will also be here tomorrow. And, can confirm that it is loud. Real loud. Real, real LOUD.
Really sucks that they make you work in a bathroom tho, dude.

Someone made the comment earlier. While nothing holds true 100% of the time, I think it is a big issue with dog ownership today (even small dogs). People look at dogs as an accessory and not as the potential wild animal within. If a dog views their humans as the Alphas of the pack and they are lower down the pecking order, they will tend to be more docile and let the human take the lead in a dangerous (or perceived dangerous situation). When humans behave weakly and the dog (of any size) feels they have to take on the role of the Alpha in their pack, they will tend towards more ferocious and protective of their weak human pack members. Again, this is not true 100% of the time, but it can have horrible or even deadly consequences with larger more powerful dogs like pitties, rottweillers, and German Shepards.
This is 100% correct. I have defended my dog several times from another dog and he will not respond. In fact the last time a dog ran into our yard and charged him and he got behind me and I kicked the dog in the teeth and it ran off. When he was real young, he was only 60- 70 lbs a little dog came after him while his owner was walking him without a leash and again I took care of the little dog while my dog sat there. The lady apologized and thanked me for not letting my dog kill hers. Big dogs are like fast cars. The faster they are the better driver you need to be.

"Big win for our NCAA tournament chances" surely cannot be the standard for rushing the court.

Wait a few minutes, let the opposing team get to the locker room, and then let the fans on the court/field if that's what you want to do. I don't see what's wrong with that. I think the idea of court stormings as a key part of NCAA basketball is ridiculous. NCAA basketball is defined by the tournament and there are no court stormings in that...

Stop with this BS Duke fans and their media are some of the biggest whiners, stop giving them a platform for this.. The only narrative that needs to be talked about is that Wake got a big win. End of discussion

Defined by the tournament? So you are telling me that we need to fahr Barnes? 🤣

Nevermind .. this isn't about Duke that you hate.
It's players safety.

I don't think getting a win that might push you into the tourney is worthy of court storming, but I don't know the history between these two schools and when the last time WF beat Duke was. I think Duke is a bunch of whiny sore losers, but that is just because they seem like an entitled bunch when it comes to BB.

To add to my earlier post about Barnes and the Tournament...

He's taken the Vols to five tournaments in seven years, about to be six out of eight. Two of those tournaments, Cinderella bent us over at half court and made us like it...with Loyola-Chicago and Florida Atlantic riding a heater all the way to the Final Four.

One of those tournaments, 20-21, Cinderella felt just a standard ass-whipping would suffice, with Oregon St finding midnight in the Elite Eight...they were on fire entering the tournament, having just won the Pac 12 tourney; and rode it until they lost to Houston by 6. And, in 18-19, Purdue upset us in overtime, then got beat by 5 in overtime by Virginia, who went on to win it all.

Yes, a couple of those years were downright frustrating and sucked, especially 18-19; while 17-18 and last year were...fate. Loyola-Chicago/Florida Atlantic...NO ONE wants to face teams like that whenever they're on a Cinderella run, NO ONE. NOTHING is stopping them until the Final Four...we've seen it time and time and time, again...year after year after year. As I said Barnes was just snakebit...to have to face two teams making runs like that.

College aged kids being college aged kids.... ALL of these court stormings are at home games. Can't pretend it's because the NCAA tournament magically solved the issue.

If the tournament upsets were home games for the underdog teams, then there would absolutely be court stormings in the NCAA tourney.

I still think something probably needs to be looked at. My solution is no student section at the next home game. Wouldn't take a very deserved win away but think could possibly be an effective solution. IDK

It says that knoxville averages 127 days of rainfall per year. . . that seems a little more than I expected. 1/3 of the year is rainy. An average of a little under 2.5 days a week. Hmm. . .
Southeast Appalachia is a Temporate Rainforest. I believe it's Atlanta that gets more rain than anywhere else in the continental US. Yes there is an island off Washington state that gets a lot of "rain" but it's mostly just covered in mist from the ocean.

Man I want a rematch with UNC. Some of their fans on FB saying "we dogwalked TN" "they don't deserve top 4" blah blah. They act like they didn't just get beat by GEORGIA TECH & have an out of their minds shooting 1st half and TN have 1 of their worst defense of efforts in a few seasons.. 🤦‍♂️ they also don't realize we had just got back from Hawaii couples days before that game.. Id like to have seen what would have happened if DK don't go down with 3 mins left down 6 & him going to the line for 2. We may pull it out or atleast be there in the last min. Hell we still was without him. Entitled pricks lol

Neutral court, healthy squad with rest.. I take TN 10+ 🤷‍♂️

Man...when I was in school there it rained every damn day. Particularly my first year. 2013.

Just looked that up and it was a record year of rainfall in Knox.
