Barnes has to recruit scorers and not defenses. Our assistant found a Knecht and it carried Barnes this year. Can’t win it playing defense only. Ready for a change and I don’t care if that upsets anyone. Bring back English.

Had already decided before the game today that I wasn’t gonna get upset and emotional if the game had gone like all of us had hoped it would..But it didn’t work out that way because I broke down shortly after the game..Hubby told me it was ok because it was an emotional game.

And in my post game rant, I called Edey every name in the book except his name.

Looking at tye stats from the game tells the story pretty well. We got killed on the glass and in the paint. We let Edey score more than he has all season. Offensively? We had DK and that was it. Perdue had 2 double digit scorers.

One would think, if one team hit 11 3s and the other hit only 3, that it would have been a one sided game. Yet another poor free throw shooting game. Santi, JJJ, Aidoo and ZZ combined for a whopping 17 points. That’s pathetic.

All in all we had a good season. Did we waste DK? I think you could say yes in a way. But the regression of a few guys this year was troubling. What do we do next year without DK? Will we have any consistent scorers? Hopefully Barnes hits the portal hard again. We need some serious talent if we want to make it to the final four. It’s just great that Bama makes it and we don’t .

I’m sorry but you don’t know basketball well enough. We shot 42% from 3 they shot 20% from 3. In 2024 it is very rare that a team who shoots 22% better from beyond the arc doesn’t win. We also made 24 shots and they made 24 shots exact same. They had zero bench points we outplayed them today. Coaching was about even I think. The only thing you can say is I think Barnes should’ve ABSOLUTELY fronted the post and doubled from the backside in the 2nd half. However, we still should’ve won despite that. 25 PF to 12 PF there it is. 33 FT to 11 FT. We 1000% made enough shots today!

Great season, soon as I saw we had Duke & Purdue I knew we would get jobbed.

Still if ZZ, Aidoo, Mashack, or even Awaka hits a few more shots we win. We lost to Kentucky when DK scored 40, lost to UNC when he dropped 37, and lost to Purdue today.

He’s a once in a generation scorer and we were lucky to have him. I just hope these elite offensive players that avoid coming here take notice. Cause if their goal is really to play in the NBA Barnes can absolutely make that happen.

Will be interesting to see who we lose and add in the portal, I’m very excited to see Awaka & JP next year. Those two could be special and both will make the other better everyday in practice.

If we can ever unlock Mashack’s offense to where he takes 6-8 good shots a game I think he’ll become a stud. Love the way he rebounds and you know playing against DK has elevated him defensively.

Barnes didn’t get to the FF with Durant, but he made it soon after. So hopefully next year we’re in the same position to do something that’s never been done. The culture has changed, and it’s now a goal that the players know can be reached.

Teams had been traveling all year. Its across the board at D2 games, HS games, and D1.

You saying we made enough shots? No we most certainly did not. Especially when Santi, JJJ, Aidoo and ZZ COMBINED for a whopping 17 points.

Why Didn’t we win? Because we didn’t have anyone that could score besides DK. That falls back on shooting. So again, the stats shows we didn’t make enough shots to win.

Yeah, it’s probably not wise to fire the head coach after the best season in your history and then recommend one of that coach’s protégés as his replacement.

I do like Smyrna, but he didn’t handle the loss well today.

To that point. Ive watched nearly every game our team has played this season. And a lot of local teams. I myself have drained layup after layup (ok, maybe every other one), against the best 4, 7, and 9 yo defenders in the neighborhood. So dont come on here and tell me I dont know basketball, moran.

It really comes down to execution. We didnt. No excuses. Refs sucked p-nice, but what else is new ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Theyve sucked more pp than a storm drain all year.

We made the same amount of shots and we hit 7 more 3s.

But they hit 14 more FTs than us, after taking 22 more. Whether you believe the refs screwed us or not the difference in the game was fouls.

Also Uros was entering year 2 with us in 2020, so Barnes probably wasn’t recruiting another big anyway.

Zach Edey had 3 offers, he took 0 visits and committed to Purdue 4 days before signing there. He was just a big with ZERO skillset, that’s why he had no offers and why he was a 3 star.

Edey played on the same team as Springer though, that’s why Barnes even saw him play.
