I’m content with Rick Barnes and where he has elevated the program. So not even worth talking about replacing him, that’s pure stupidity.

As long as he continues producing the results he has been on the court he can retire as a Vol. This season should highlight that with just 1 scorer his style of ball can compete for a national championship.

Basketball? Cameron Carr is going to be a scorer. So is JP Estrella. Awaka was a great find.

The DK find has changed Barnes a bit, and he’s going to get 2/3 from the portal.

Santi, JJJ, Aidoo and ZZ going for a combined 17 points had nothing to do with Edey.

Aidoo- (0-4)
Santi- (0-2)
JJJ- (3-4)
ZZ- (3-12)

All that experience in big time games and they only took a combined 22 shots. That’s pathetic. None of those guys are consistent scorers. I understand your frustrations with Edey. But the fact remains is our experienced guys yet again shrunk in the biggest moments. Their fear and inability to make shots had nothing to do with how Edey was reffed. You said it yourself. Despite the bad officiating, we only lost by 6. Imagine if we had gotten even decent production out of the guys I listed. We win. So yes, our players, outside of DK, absolutely deserve blame.

We just made the E8, i think - much like football on O and Dline its time to stop 'finding diamonds in the rough.'

I don’t think Barnes will go too crazy in the portal because he doesn’t want players to have the impression that’s how he rolls. It will be a rebuild year.

They’re targeting a slew of portal players. They will probably take at least 3.

Zach Edey had 3 offers, he took 0 visits and committed to Purdue 4 days before signing there. He was just a big with ZERO skillset, that’s why he had no offers and why he was a 3 star.

Edey played on the same team as Springer though, that’s why Barnes even saw him play.

He’s not good at basketball. Unatheltic. Cant shoot, He won’t do anything in the NBA.

It's not even worth discussion. He's not getting fired. He's going to be here until he retires, and that probably won't be very long from now. White isn't going to fire him, he's letting him go out on his own terms and he deserves that. He loves Tennessee. His boys play at the highest level. We've never been better. Never been more stable. Guys are never in trouble. They're the highest quality young men and highest quality athletes.

I don't understand the impatience by fans. Every year we have him is better for the Tennessee basketball program in the long run.

Just enjoy what we have because 5-10 years from now we might wish we'd had a few more and might wish we hadn't been so negative about the greatest period in program history. We are ALMOST there and the ride is almost over with Barnes. He's got another 1 or 2 cracks at it I think.

Nope, Paolo Banchero was in the 2021 class, think that’s who you’re talking about. Edey was however in the same class AND same team as Mark Williams a 7’0” 5 star Duke landed that year.

Edey also could have stayed for another year at IMG & gotten more offers had he returned. But I doubt he will mention that part, no he got overlooked as a non starter at a stacked HS with a year left.

Need a 2 and 3, maybe a backup 1 depending on what Freddie does. I'm not saying he leaves just seeing speculation he does.

If he actually got called for the fouls that he committed, nobody would be talking about him now either. He is big and uses his size to bully guys in the paint. That will get you so far. He will flame out hard in the NBA when he is up against dudes as big and equally strong and echelons more athleticlly talented than him.

We didn’t hit enough shots to win. I posted the stats to back that up. You can say fouls all you want. Was that part of it? Sure. But answer me this. What happens if instead of Santi, JJJ, ZZ and Aidoo giving us a combined 17 points, they each gave us 10? That’s a combined 40.

So that would have been an extra 22 points. We cruise despite the fouls. I mean in todays game is it really too much to ask for 2 5th year SRs and 2 JRs to score 10 points each in a huge game?

Agreed. He may not even get drafted. When is the last time a NPOTY didn’t get drafted?
