Transfer portal is a thing…the roster isn’t even set for next season and you are on here in April complaining about it. Just say you don’t understand college basketball it would save us a lot of time and effort for having to respond to your drivel in the recruiting forum

It's OK the truth hurts theyd rather make fun then admit I'm right. It was said about Philips during his recruitment and many others that Barnes won't get into bidding wars and doesn't believe in paying guys before they get to campus. I can't go back through that forum and quote it but it was said by TGO, BTO and others.

Cameron Carr is a star in the making. I believe Estrella is as well. Both were top 65 recruits. I think DK’s success will help us in the portal. DK made millions more by coming to UT, and that is NIL that no one really talks about.

Rick Barnes is the best basketball recruiter that we’ve ever had. I think he can figure it out.

Do you think any Vols bball squads of the last 20 years would have beaten that Purdue team?

I would have been interested to see if Grant could get in Edey's head.

They wanted to hold some for the portal. We just have one HS commit, who is top 75. That’s why the ranking is so low.

probably lead to lower quality officials…. the good ones would leave… I agree with the need for more transparency and a feeling of accountability…. The fact remains though that every team (especially the loser) feels that the ref was out so screw them.

We're going to find out in a week, but we may have seen what should've been the NCAA finals. Purdue very easily could blow out NC State, Alabama, and UConn. Purdue was our worst matchup, but even Jay Wright said before the game that the Vols were the team that matched up the best for stopping Purdue.

I know it's a bold claim because UConn looks unstoppable, but will/can they match up any better against Purdue? Can they stifle their guards like we did? Can their 7 footer match up with Edey at all and stay out of foul trouble? I'm not sure if they'll do any better than we did, but I'm excited to see what happens.

I understand CBB very well. I have family that coach at a school that won a conference championship this year in in D1 college basketball. In fact their conference won multiple games this tournament. So I do understand it and guess what? I know what kids are asking for these days as well as how the portal works. Tennessee can NIL better than they do. Rick’s big things are defense and character which are important but we gotta get some scoring and we aren’t ponying up to get guys like that. We’re lucky Knecht was a humble hardworking kid who didn’t care as much about NIL as he did working hard.

Grant would've kept him out of the paint or Purdue likely just puts another defender on him while still camping Edey. I don't think Barnes uses Grant to defend him. I think Uros had the natural body and ability to defend him, he just never had the opportunity.

Uros (big, physical, mental)
Edey (big, physical, not super athletic)

At least the coaches, players, fans would understand the crews were seeing and how they were making judgment calls.

I feel like everyone is blind going into these games. What are they going to call? Are they going to call it all game? What about in certain situations?

You're just at the mercy of their whims, and the announcers try to explain it or add context, but for the most part it's a guessing game.

CRB loves the mid ranked players 25-60 range he isn't too much into the one and done high schoolers.
