Man Burke is having a fantastic year. With a swing that beautiful I was hoping he’d be more than just a long ball meathead. Seems he has developed nicely.
I hate that his swing looks less like Griffey’s now than it ever has, but can’t argue with the results of the tweaking

why not? They've been in the system for over a year, been developed by Barnes and staff, know our culture, and have been playing behind upperclassman... now would be their chance to step up...
So who do you know that we are definitely getting to replace them that are upgrades? I'll hang up and listen...
You said, losing Awaka and Aidoo would be bad in light of losing DJ and Dillione. I said, losing Awaka and Aidoo would be bad even if both of those guys had stayed.

How that turned in to you asking me who is going to replace them, I’ll never know.

As McGill (I think it was him) put it yesterday or a couple days ago —

This is the best fanbase AND the worst fanbase.

For whatever reason, Aidoo attracts attention from the mouth breather portion of the fanbase. And for whatever other reason, Awaka is universally loved.

May not mean much to you and me. But young’ns live on the socials.

Peoples' own made up expectations failing them 😆

Hadden 2.0.

Sometimes folks can't just appreciate good players that are still very human.

OR maybe they could just let players progress and progress, sometimes slipping like anyone. You'd think they're dogging a rival's player sometimes. Just be a fan. Show up, support, and wave your damn pom poms. This message has been approved by @SweetasSoda

Think the rule change that created one and done was 2005 so that makes sense. Wasn’t as easy to stack top recruits because they went pro. I vaguely remember Cal losing a few highly rated recruits to the NBA prior to that. Amare Stoudemire and Kendrick Perkins come to mind.
Yup, he lost Perkins in 2003.

Shortly before the one and done rule was when Calipari also got hooked up with William “Worldwide Wes” Wesley. The guy has connections all over the NBA, the AAU scene and all throughout the entertainment industry overall going all the way back to even having the ear of Lebron James family during his high school years. He is rumored to have guided Derrick Rose, John Wall, Brandon Knight and more to Calipari during the end of his Memphis career and beginning of his UK career once that rule ended. They talked about him a bit during the 30 for 30 on the one and done stuff. I was shocked he and Cal didn’t get caught up in that FBI / NBA agent stuff.

For sure we have a loud idiot margin. I think (hope) we have coaches and advisors who really teach those guys to tune out the noise. Obviously that doesn’t always happen, as we see former players commenting all the time about being treated poorly by fans. Some guys can take it for what it’s worth and ignore it (JJJ) but some others take it personally (Hadden).

I just think for myself I wouldn’t let that be the determining factor in the direction of my life

Feels. But if he has the opportunity to go make more money than he’s making here bc someone wants to overpay him for a year, I think not having to deal with the fan base (the bad part of it, not the good part) would have to factor into the decision.

A huge reason we lost to Purdue was because they out rebounded us by 21(!!!) total rebounds.. not because we lack an enforcer. A man who averaged less than 4 boards a game as a senior is gonna be a difference maker against the 2x NPOY?? Who is far more skilled than Uros? Nah

The main reason they out rebounded us by 21 was because they were all allowed (not just Edey) to arm bar us, elbow us in the face, and push us in the back when we were in position to grab the board.

As far as Uros, I think he would have helped marginally defending Edey, but the refs weren’t gonna allow him to be touched so it’s a moot point.
