Karic is tiny and he gets pushed aroundPFF grades certainly aren't the end-all-be-all, but Karic has been pretty bad against Florida/UTSA.

Caleb on the Dave Hooker show states often that Karic is not a D1 player.Karic is tiny and he gets pushed around
Out of all the transfers we got his really made the least since and it looks like there is a reason why nobody was excited about it. I guess we have needed him, but it would be hard to convince me that we couldn't have gotten someone way better.
Dont'e is a disappointment, but it at least made a lot of sense.
Did you watch the Florida game? It wasn’t the secondary in pass coverage that cost that game. Maybe being able to stop a nosebleed in the run game would’ve changed things aroundSo what happened at the FL game, did we decide not to show our improvement? UTSA was slicing us the second half with a 3rd string QB... we just waiting until this week to show out? Sorry, I know it seems sarcastic, but to me we have maybe shown slight improvement, but not much at all. May just be the stupid coverages / soft zone we are dialing up...
Hopefully we drop the hammer this weekend-- I won't be able to handle them coming in and beating us...
You really think there’s a treasure trove not happy where they’re at? Who was the future top 10 pick this past off-season? Ajani Cornelius from Rhode Island? He’s a starter at RT for Oregon but I haven’t yet heard of him having to make a decision to declare. Like Tyler Steen from Vandy to Bama last season…nothing generational, and that’s a program that loads up on 5 star OL each recruiting class. A piece here and there I agree with and imo that’s the coaches mindset. Pick up a center to help groom Satterwhite, and mebbe an OT for depth/competition. But WHOLESALE CHANGES is fan messageboard fantasy…once again imo. We're going to need to ante up for some top-shelf OL this portal season.
Absolutely... You look at our WR room and who is leaving, who'll be back and contributed so far this season, and it looks like a bunch of guys are going to have to step up... May need another portal WR or Matthews is gonna play as a frosh...Karic is tiny and he gets pushed around

#Vols DL coach Rodney Garner said he still doesn't have an answer for the first half at Florida. Said Tennessee was outplayed in every facet, and he didn't see that coming.
Also I think Nichols being a bit slower to develop is why we're seeing Lane/Karic/Dayne having to play so much more this season.
Not that Nichols is a bad player etc. OL is a different position for development. You sometimes land a dude that's just got all the tools day 1 (Trey Smith) and your job is refinement and helping them get stronger. And sometimes you get a guy that doesn't seem capable for 2 or 3 years then becomes a monster (Carvin is best recent example)
