You are correct, of course Rodney was better than Troy, Fontes better than Johnson, etc

The only open ended question; they still monitoring your posts at The Star?…
I don’t know you but you act like you know me.

In what region of your azz did you pull out that I suggested the QBs and HCs were on par? Specifically stated OFFENSIVE LINE. I’d add Herman Moore was at Michael Irvin’s level. Defense was overwhelmingly on Cowboys in a tale of the tape. The run & shoot didn’t employ TEs or fullbacks so we can skip that.

I post time to time. Feel free to ignore. Point was Dallas was a much better team than the Lions. All players benefitted. Barry did not have the same team, some good players but not close to on par.

I mean 1 of those playoff games Lions beat Emmitt & Dallas 38-6 & Barry only had 12 carries for 69 yards, should have stayed in longer to pad stats like Emmitt did. 😅
Barry had some good OLinemen in front of him. Lomas Brown was an All-Pro. They had some tragedy with two young OL getting paralyzed and killed. But they re-stocked it with veterans. People get a pre-conceived notion about these things and don’t let up.

I hope we get him, mostly cause he will excel here, raise our potential, and raise his draft stock.

But there’s a piece of me that wants to bring in all the pieces and win it all just to make the defectors regret they ever went elsewhere. I know it’s petty, but I don’t care.

Herman Moore was an All Pro WR. Lomas Brown was an All Pro OL. Brett Perriman had 90+ receptions in two consecutive seasons. Lions had 5 other players make All Pro in the early to mid-90’s, and two others make the Pro Bowl. You don’t go 12-4, 10-6, 9-7, and 10-6 in 4 out of 5 seasons without other talent.

Dallas used the Walker trade to stockpile their roster, but Detroit had some successful seasons.

Not much difference than what I’ve presented. I compared the OL’s and the schemes. Fleshes out why I give Emmitt much more credit for his own achievements. I don’t need to ignore you. You seem smart enough to realize that I’ve developed these opinions over a lengthy stretch of time and ain’t changing them for a dude who posted at me a couple of times on a message board…or I’m overestimating you.

Not arguing that Lions didn’t have good players, Dallas just had more and made better moves to keep it that way for a long time. And generally I don’t slobber over FU players…

Yea, it’s why they won 3 Super Bowls. But the point was Barry had some good players and linemen too. I don’t know why one has to be downgraded by the other. Barry and Emmitt were both elite. All you have to do is watch 10 minutes of highlights for each. But Emmitt Smith has highlight after highlight that had little to do with his offensive line because there were defenders all over him.

To be fair Aidoo is a higher rated guy than these two, but we may be improved as a whole.

Felix and Igor didn't compete for minutes on the same team/cannibalize PT from one another. And Igor played for Charlotte, not in the SEC.

I'm hoping it's a wash, considering those 2 landed at Zona and with Cal. I do think landing Lanier could get us back somewhere in the realm of last year. Wish we could have kept Dillione though. Missing Tyson stunk.

But regardless you know you'll have a good team with Barnes. Taking a step back from...the best UT team ever(?)...kinda hard not to and no shame lol.
